Aside from the tons of fossil evidence, the "God or Allah" belief is suppose to be one of compassion and love. Our bloody history alone would make that impossible to believe.

However, do not fear. Religion is not going away any time soon. There is too much money to be made duping the innocent. Money that is then spent to try and dupe other innocents or better still convert others of differing belief, which will bring in even more money!

There is no God or Allah. It is all a figment of so called "civilization's" imagination. Look at the facts.

This plant is 5 billion years old. Life has existed for 3.5 billion years starting with single cell organisms. Those single cells organisms diverged into ALL life. Apes swung out the trees in Africa about 5 million years ago and started walking upright. Between then and now, there have been many different branches of walking apes until about 20,000 years ago. For 15 thousand years we lived in caves or some kind of natural shelter. Finally about 5000 years ago we started living in communities whose source of food was agriculture along the Nile river.

When humans no longer spent so much time hunting for food, the had time to develop reading, writing, art, philosophy, science. And with the developement of profound thought came the question, where did we come from?

Rather than just accept the truth, a whole new idea was put forth that we were "special" and had some special relationship with a higher power.

It comes from man's basic inability to accept the idea of death and being alone. What is the most secure time in a human's life? When it is a child and is part of a family. Where the all powerful father takes care of you.

So we built up this myth of a higher power who is always there and will always take care of us. We even call him Father.

I find it infinitely ironic that Jews, Muslims, and Christians all claim to follow the God of Abraham. Even though they have different beliefs about God, they fundamentally claim allegiance to the same god.

And, of course, they all claim that their God is on their side. It would be one thing if people claimed allegiance to different gods on opposing sides and used the competition to justify killing each other (like "My god is better than your god").

But it is just incredible that people are actually saying that God loves them more than the other guys and wants them to live and the other guys to die.

If God loves one people more than another, why would God create a people only to have them massacred? Although I don't like to say it, that would mean the position of many people is wrong about their god, or their god is evil. I don't believe in evil gods, so I am compelled not to believe that God is on anyone's side who tries to justify killing in the name of God.

So can anyone seriously make a case that God is in favor of slaughtering innocent people en masse? This is my problem with Muslim AND American Holy Wars.

One poster opines that the two statistics have nothing to do with one another. Actually they do.

But these numbers should be added together, not contrasted.

The 2978 dead American soldiers should be added to the 2978 victims of the 9/11 attack and all of it added to the criminal incompetence and malfeasance of Bush and his puppetmasters.

What is so sad about this number is none, not one of them had to die. It's the arrogance and Incompetence of one little man who happens to think he's on a mission from God to "Give" our system of Government to others that has created all these torn American Families. No WMD's and NO connection to any attack on us but this poor simple minded man thinks it's his responsibility to give to others that which he so obviously does not understand. Sad day in the history of this country. Very sad indeed.

Relating these two sad statistics is completely misguided. The terrorists who aggressively attacked on 9/11 would have loved to have killed more than 2,973, but they rejoiced over what they got and resolved to keep killing until America is gone and the entire world is Muslim. That may take more than 3,000 American deaths.

I've noticed that CBS, AP and other collectors of information have been counting the days and the dead bodies of our troops leading up to this number, The equal number that were killed on 911.

Are they trying to say that this is the point that America looses the war? Are they saying that this is the point where America is no longer worth defending? I can feel all the Bush Bashers, in honor of this occasion, dancing on the graves of those who died defended our country, chanting to themselves how right and righteous they are.

Face reality my friend, civil war, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's dead, 1.6 Iraqi's have fled the country, and America is deeply polarized and universally despised throughout the world. I have an idea on how to build up the size of the U.S. Military. First President Bush's two twin "daddy's girls" could volunteer to serve in the military, Second maybe Vice President Richard Cheney's daughter-in-law (Mary Cheney's wife)could volunteer to serve in the U.S. Military, until Mary has her baby(Mary went and got herself pregnant to attrack attention)Third, with a few(Not!!!)actually with many republicans that lost elections in this years mid-term elections, maybe former senator George Allen,Conrad Burns,Jim Talent,Bonilla or several others could volunteer to serve and fight this Iraq war they wanted so bad, if not surely they have friends of family like the troops currently serving that serve, maybe some children,grandchildren,nieces,nephews, etc. after all the rich,private schools will still be here win we achieve victory in Iraq as Bush has promised.
