yep it did and the sad part is Bush still doesn't believe it. He still thinks we're winning. The man has the IQ of a dead tree toad.

You're right about Iran. They fought a war with Iraq to create another powerful Sunni Muslim oil-rich state next door. They couldn't defeat Iraq. So they hung around until clueless leader arrived. He was pissed about Saddam's trying to have his dad killed. That predisposition was a perfect fit for the neocons. Together they spent a lot of time on the judicious use of corroborative intelligence to craft a case for the need for urgent action to protect us and the world from Saddam's restarted WMD programs operating at breakneck speed. The real urgency was that such an intelligence farce can't last long or survive serious scrutiny.

"All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." This quote doesn't originate with Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld but it fits their attitude and worked for them.

RonnieHM,

Other world leaders and intelligence agencies have their own agendas. Sure bet that China would like to get their hands on Iraqi oil. Iran would like to Iraq to be just like them, run by fanatical mullahs breeding more terrorists.

Reading the words of FeelFree1,"Many top WWII Nazi leaders were tried at Nuremberg, and sentenced to death by hanging for deeds that are remarkably similar to those of the illegitimate Bush cabal."
RonnieHM commented, "That's absurd."

Hardly. Hitler orchestrated the hoax "communists" burned the Reichstag as a pretext for his grabbing more power, and spawned another lie that Poles crossed the German border to raid a German radio station and broadcast inflammatory remarks (suitable for declaring war against Poland, of course). Hitler's was a pre-meditated, unprovoked attack on a sovereign state.

Bush spawned an even more brazen hoax about Iraqi WMDs, despite lack of support by his own intelligence services. CIA and other sources said there was no compelling evidence for WMDs-- all the more understandable when none were found after invasion, and Bush had searched for months. The WMDs simply did not exist, Bush knew he had no solid evidence they did, but used the "absence of proof is not proof of absence" mantra to stampede congress. "Take my word for it," Bush said. Bush's word was worth nothing, since his was a pre-meditated, unprovoked attack on a sovereign state.

RonnieBM,

Re: "Sorry, I'm obviously much older than you. Bye,"

PROOF that age does not necessarily equal wisdom.

I thought you'd be unable to answer.

You shouldn't jump into the deep end before you are sure you know how to swim. You look like a floater to me.

The French, The Germans, The Italians, all thought it was highly suspect and wanted to wait for the UN weapons inspectors to re-confirm their conclusions that the WMD's had been destroyed and the programs had not been restarted.
