The spot "drought dries up 200 miles of the Arkansas River" left me curious. The reporter was in Lincoln, Kansas, 60 miles north of the Arkansas River. The Saline runs through Lincoln and is damned about 20 miles west of his location forming a lake.
If the Arkansas is in fact dry, there was no mention that the River also has dams, is not reliant on Kansas rain but Colorado Mountain runoff.
I'm curious, how accurate was this report?
