I want to know why the following was edited out. Wouldn't this have indeed been helpful to those that seem to be under the impression that Romney and Ryan are out to destroy medicare?
I think you are on to something. You are right---the most radical part of the interview, the part discussing Ryan's support of gutting Medicare and replacing it with a voucher plan, was edited out of the CBS interview that aired. Why did CBS think fluff about how Ryan felt when he got the pick was more important than this part? Was it because 60 Minutes is watched by lots of seniors, and it would scare them? They should be scared!
The answer to your question is an easy one: CBS did what it does best, show its bias. It was obvious from the TV show that substantive points favorable to Romney were deleted. So, I went to the website to confirm and there it was. Really pathetic, but just what I expected. CBS, like Obama, will not want to focus on Obama's gutting of $700 million from Medicare or his many other failures and deceptions. Just the way it is, and it will only get worse as the election approaches
Yea that was good. It shows how easy it is to put him off balance if an interviewer really tries.
But trouble is that that was the only time that Scheiffer asked even a slightly uncomfortable question in the interview that aired. Scheiffer really dropped the ball on this interview---for instance he didn't ask a single follow-up question when Ryan claimed he was in favor of eliminating tax loopholes that the rich use to avoid taxes. And sitting right next to him is the poster boy for using tax loopholes, Mr. Offshore Accounts himself, Mitt Romney!
What a silly non-issue. Where are Obama's college records? Where are the fast and furious documents that Congress has requested? Obama and his supporters just want to talk about anything other than Obama's record of utter failure. Compare his budget that is so radical it did not get one vote from one Democrat to Ryan's budget that has bipartisan support and you will know right away who is the radical in this contest.
Mitt Romney is rich. So what? President Obama is rich, do you care? What will more tax returns tell you? That he uses the allowable write-offs in the tax code? Tsk. How unfair of him. I'm a senior, I have and will always have to take care of myself, financially. I have to take care of myself, so my daughter and my grandchildren will not have the burden. I want the government out of my life decisions as much as possible. Obama would spoon feed me. He has to go.
