Seth: Great report. I have a video from a TV special about dreaming. One woman was shown to have lost a lot of weight by lucid dreaming that she could eat anything she wanted so that during the day she did not desire it. This is a true story. It is amazing. I have done some lucid dreaming. Of course Stephen LaBerge did a scientific study of it and wrote a book about it.
I suggest if you really want your mind opened even further, that you read a classic book around since the 70's SETH SPEAKS by Janie Roberts.
You are such an intelligent man and have no fear of where you go and what you experience, so get ready for a real adventure after reading SETH SPEAKS. You will understand the physical and non-physical reality. And know this. Nothing ever happens in your life but what you don't dream it first. so pay attention to your dreams!
Dreams are the gateway to help you understand the Divine and your place in it.

Hi Seth, lucid dreaming has been scientifically proven in lab settings for over thirty years. Please do a little more research first before writing your news pieces. Google Stephen LaBerge. Or maybe even just look at the lucid dreaming wiki page. It is your responsibility to the public to fact check your work. By not doing so you are shaming both yourself and CBS news.

Extremely disappointed in this Seth Doane's piece on lucid dreaming. How do you do a piece on lucid dreaming without once mentioning meditation? On top of that Seth Doane states that lucid dreaming in "virtually impossible to prove," which is actually not the case at all. In fact, ANYBODY can achieve or "prove" lucid dreaming by meditating - it may take you five years of meditating, but that's hardly the point. Time consuming does not equal "virtually impossible," it is verifiable and repeatable (aka scientific). Experienced meditaters have a long history of describing, and verifying, the four major states of consciousness: (waking, dreaming, deep sleep, and witnessing/non dual). They will "verify" these states of consciousness by remaining alert and maintaining awareness through all states of consciousness all while scientists measure their brain waves (Alpha, Beta, Delta, etc...). Disappointed that this superficial piece uses the movie Inception and teases the audience with ideas like creating a dream world of your choosing, when he could have talked about lucid dreaming as just another step towards awakening, enlightenment or non-dual awareness - talk about missing the boat.
