seriously, cbs! "you' at cbs news need to take this 'segment' and make it a study as what NOT to do in an interview. to be unprepared and ill informed is not only rude to your guest(s) and listeners but, a huge disservice to everyone.
to cut mr. zorn off in mid-sentence for a segment of the '...little known story of start of crosby, stills & nash' go back and watch, unfortunately it's 6:50 minutes of your life you won't be able to get back and neither will we, to hear graham nash pontificate on their tour...david crosby on then end of the couch with this 'not sure why we are here' look stephen stills happy to agree with anything...and what was your big revelation here, cass elliott's connection? old news, old, very old news.
there were (6) six minutes and (50) fifty seconds that would have been much better served allowing mr. zorn to share the story of his father, eugene zorn's history with john 'cemetery john' knoll.
granite mr. zorn may be better served by a publicist preparing him to better answer questions from the media, but you the 'professionals' did not look out for your guest or take care of him by helping him through the interview process so everyone would come out better informed at the end.
a great lesson to be learned by all here, and isn't that ironic since your follow up segment with cs&n was entitled 'teach your children' well i believe is how the song goes...maybe there is hope for us all.
and to all who wnat to know the 'whole story' i highly recommend mr. robert zorn's book: "Cemetery John" (Overlook, $26.95) in his book, mr. zorn does tell 'the whole story' and quite poignantly. well worth the read.
Just when I find the slightest bit of respect for CBS germinating in my mind, something like this comes along and it's gone again. Total incompetence. Clearly, they didn't give a rip about the book... or Lindberg's baby. Pathetic.
I agree. What a SHAME Mr Zorn was cut off mid-sentence. His book "Cemetery John" is fascinating. How about making it up to him and bringing him BACK so he can have a full segment?
I was totally floored that they cut him off like they did. We did not change the channel because we were so interested in what he had to say. I found it was extremely rude to both Mr. Zorn and the listeners to build it up like that and leave it hanging. We THEN went ahead and changed the channel.
Please. Consideration is as important as timing. If you are going to air it - give it enough time to finish it.
What a disgusting segment on the Lindberg kidnapping. Not only did your anchor use up 1:30 of a 4:24 time frame to set the story up, but then just cuts the gentlemen off before he finishes his story, and since your show is mostly fluff, it seems like you could have given more time to finish a scarce interesting story that you started. It appears that all the highly compensated "NEWS" employees egos are just too large...DISGUSTING FLUFF!!
It would have nice if CBS would have given this man enough time n the program to tell the entire story! Very interesting interview if I could have seen the whole thng.
