- The ranting of the madman Hernandez must not be believed unless he provides details only known to the police. The most incriminating details would be what the boy had in his pockets or his choice of soda or candy.Interrogators never record the motive for a murder as being caused by racial or religious hatred; for the sake of public safety the confession must be sanitized. It is for this reason the motive of Hernandez will never be known except to the interrogator and himself.
