- The blood, vial, and label belong to the patient's estate. The document belongs to the hospital or lab. Like with John Lennon's fingerprint card, the ownership belongs to someone other than the seller. In Lennon's case, the FBI fingerprint card belonged to the federal govt. The federal govt is one type of property owner. A patient's estate is another. Even though there is little value absent the collector's value, it is nonetheless present.
