you don't have to agree with his policies but if you live in this country, you should show respect to our president. Good for you Obama! You always show class and intelligence in the faces of idiots!
Does anyone remember when that guy showed up at an Obama speech with an assault rifle and was allowed to stay? I dont think this president needs to show any more patience after that disgusting disrespect of a U.S. president.
The disrespect shown George W Bush was what started all of this. I have no respect for Barry and I never will. He's a disgusting POS, a liar, a complete and total fraud, and I'm going to be making sure he knows that I know it. He deserves NO respect. None. Kudos to anyone who treats him like the POS that he is.
I DO NOT LIKE this President! But I do respect him personally and I totally respect the office of the President. Don't you wish the Liberals and Democrats who started this "Hate Thing" with George Bush would do the same? Payback is H_e_ll don't cha know!
The liberals started it with the "Hate Thing". I seem to remember a few million in taxpayer money being used for the Kenneth Star, head hunt for Bill Clinton. Oh how we forget.....
No not at all. Not crying. I am doing fine. The original comment was not fully factual. Just wanting to clarify it. For some reason, (i think it is due to the conservative media), there has been alot of either non-factual or not fully factual statements made by individuals. It is important that we as Americans, remember the bad equally with the good. Only then can we move forward and prosper.
when rethuglicans start at least acting like adults, every time you try to converse with a rethug, they go off half cocked, screaming about Bill Clinton? i thought they would at least have him proclaimed a god or saint because you take away bill, then there was no SURPLUS THE RETHUGLICANS COULD SQUANDER AWAY TO BEGIN WITH and the banks would have had to get by with their bad habits they still practice today under rethuglican protections.
"Oh liberals started it with George Bush" But wait, conservatives did it with Clinton. And liberals did it with Bush Sr. It's been going on since the two parties were made, get over it.
Regardless of political affiliation, President Obama was, in this exchange so incredible gracious and presidential. I am admittedly a supporter - but aside from that, lets remember the MANY MANY times that Bush detractors were not only REMOVED, but ARRESTED. This man was not. He was heard, dealt with civilly - even though HE was not acting such - and allowed to remain. In fact encouraged - "anyone want to give books..." was President Obama's remark towards the end. Again, regardless of how you feel about our president, his politics, his diplomacy, fairness, and presidential behavior is beyond reproach.
Very appropriate comment cagirl. Many times people were taken out of the audience if they made a peep. Anyone even wearing a t-shirt that did not please them was refused entry. President Obama is always courteous and has never been rude to anyone when he is speaking to supporters or those who don't support him.
is this something like the NEW black panthers threatening WHITE VOTERS and THIS president and eric holder ignoring the whole thing. is that some of what u admire?
Regardless of party affiliation, it is rude and disrespectful to interrupt the President of the United States. There have been many past presidents and policies that I may not agree with, or even like, but it is not acceptable to heckle Presidents. It shows where morals and common courtesy have gone in this country. Whatever happened to "agree to disagree"? If you are unhappy about certain policies and actions there are ways to voice your disapproval without yelling and making a fool of yourself.
You can say all want about how bad the President has been but the guy has class. I went to a friends dinner party where I was introduced to some very nice people. After a few hours of polite conversation, I discovered they were Republicans. After they spouted off about who should be the next Republican president I simply asked them. "How has President Obama and this administration hurt you." NO reply. You could hear a pin drop. Some people can't get passed their prejudices to understand what's right.
You call that class?! Strange definition. Classy presidents have hecklers quietly escorted out of the function by the Secret Service. They absolutely never make a public spectacle of them. This President is a liar and responsible for the torture of innocent people. Worse than Bush who held detainees at GITMO for years, Obama has sent innocent prisoners -never given a trial, let alone convicted- to Afghan prisons to be beaten, shocked, and tortured with electric cables. Obama's ethics are worse than Bush's and THAT is saying something. Hopefully, America will not only send him packing in November, but they'll send him to The Hague to be tried and convicted of war crimes. He is a terrible human being and a terrible embarrassment to our country. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/19/world/asia/us-still-sending-detainees-to-afghan-jails-rights-groups-say.html?_r=1
Guaranteed they didn't know where to begin. From his TSA policy to grope unsuspecting children to the fact that he has taken our debt higher in three years than any other president, this man is just pure hatred of the US. His war on religious Americans will erode the freedom of all, and his Obamacare is a nightmare. Have you read his two books?
That is a bald faced lie. There is no person in this country, especially a Republican that would spend hours discussing the presidential primary, that can't go on at length about how hussein obama has done all that he can to weaken our economy, run up unprecedented deficits, borrow money from china in our name to give to his cronies, start a war on religion, mismanage the war in Afghanistan, hijack our healthcare system, divide the country along class, race, political, and religious lines, etc, etc, etc. Those are just ones that I came up with off the top of my head. Like all liberals you have no qualms about lieing to make some stupid point. Well some of us are tired of being polite and are willing to call you on it.
The internet is not sufficiently expansive to summarize how this so-called president and his administration has adversely affected my life. He is a cancer in this country's psyche that must be removed this November.
So, they "spouted off" opinions about the primary as soon as you "discovered", after all the hours of polite conversation, they were in fact...REPUBLICANS(yuck!)!! I trust that you remembered to mock their belief in God, and then insult capitalism.. that'll teachem to understand not get past their prejudices. After all, how does having less buying power in our currency, less freedom of choice , and more security threats to the nation hurt us??
I can answer that. He stalled our economic recovery, he got the government involved in the private sector, he gave millions of my/our tax dollars to his rich buddy fat cats on Wall Street, he's doubled our national debt...which hurts everyone, he has passed a pathetic "health care" bill that was anything but with all kinds of ridiculous earmarks to funnel even more millions to his rich fat cat buddies, he put the architect of our economic collapse, the queer Bawney Fwank, in charge of the "recovery", he tried to stop a pipeline that would have put millions back into the local economy, only caving after the outrage, he tried to tell religious organizations how they need to conduct themselves yet grandstands on the separation of church and state...I could go on and on and on and on and on and on. To say nothing of the fact that he was a member of a black supremacist hate church FOR TWENTY YEARS that preaches that blacks should not marry whites, that rails against the country that permits them to exist. Barry went around the world apologizing for the USA, groveling before world leaders around the world, making himself and us look like idiots. I have no use for the POS whatsoever, the biggest joke and most controversial "president" to ever be elected to office.
This is a reply to dagiffy. I don't get paid to defend Obama, so I won't. I just hate to see people bash him for the wrong reasons, because that indicates a profound misunderstanding of what this country needs.
I SHALL NOT attempt to explain what's wrong with the entire "national debt" argument, why it's not "too huge", why it's not "hurting our economy", etc. Quite the reverse. That means Obama and Congress are NOT acting towards real "fiscal responsibility", the responsibility to utilize the powers of govt to provide the foundation that the private sector CANNOT provide.
The private sector CANNOT create money. If it does, that's called "counterfeiting" and is a federal crime. ONLY govt can create money, which Congress does when it spends.
Beyond that, anyone interested enough to have an opinion, ought to be curious enough to read about MMT, to learn the operational facts about our money system. In a few nutshells, OUR private sector financial wealth is a mirror image of the public (national) debt.
Reducing the federal deficit is the arithmetic equivalent of reducing our private financial wealth, and vice versa. Stephanie Kelton has a graph showing that over time.
The national debt? That is a few countries' savings accounts at the Federal Reserve Bank in Washington, which are called Securities Accounts. Every month when T-bonds mature, like CDs, that money is transferred from Securities accounts to Reserve accounts, at the Fed. Voila. Debt paid off.
The issue is, due to our TRADE deficit, foreign central banks usually turn around and order the Fed to put their money into more Treasuries. This is just like anyone with a fat checking account may choose to open a savings account or buy some CDs.
Congress is propagating "Gold Std" thinking when our monetary system abandoned that 40 years ago. Our money is as "virtual" as the Internet. It's like if Congress was panicking over increase in (literal) horse manure on our streets, or a communist takeover even though the USSR ended in 1989. Oh wait, they ARE still freaked out about horse manure and communism!!
MMT is simple and factual, and Warren Mosler is one who explains it simply, but it runs counter to almost everything we THINK we know, so that makes it "counter-intuitive".
How do any of you know there was any 'threats' against POTUS or that this was even HECKLING? He wanted Obama to read his book, that is not heckling that is just interrupting. Why are you all making such a big deal out of this non issue and why is this even a story.
That was not the act of a gentleman. A gentleman would have had the heckler quietly escorted out the event. President Obama is a war criminal responsible for the brutal torture of innocent prisoners - people who have never been tried for any crime, let alone convicted. We need to impeach this war criminal immediately and let him rot in a cell. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/19/world/asia/us-still-sending-detainees-to-afghan-jails-rights-groups-say.html?_r=1

Both sides do it, so maybe both sides will grow up in unison as well.
Good luck.

Excellent comment.

And liberals did it with Bush Sr.
