First off anyone who is mad about this woman talking about under age drinking on here needs to shut up seriously you people are going after a news woman for doing her job reporting the freakin news. threating her own kids and make her leave her job for a week all because this woman is dong her job wow you know the way that people are now a days in this country almost makes me sick.how would you like someone to threatin your kids because someone didnt like the way you do your job im mean it is freakin rediculous to see parents getting upset over the news taping their kids drinking at to young of a age they should be happy so they can stop it i know if my kids wee going into a store and buying alcohol under 21 i would want to know and who ever would tell me i would be thankful about it not make them feel like they have to hide because they are scared and im a 27 yr old mother with 2 kids so im still young and at a age where i should still be inthe clubs drinking probabaly fresh out of college but im not. you if i would have had someone who cared while i was growing up about me drinking i would be a happier person but instead i drank as a young teen as young a 14 yrs old and nobody really cared and you kow what i ended up with beginning bleeding ulcers at age 14 with my first drink because i over did it and i had to take 13 different pills for a yr because of it i went through so many test to find out why i was in so much pain and come to find out it was all my own fault cause it was from me drinking. so parents next time when you find out your child is drinking under age just think about what they are doing to them selfs and also think about what your parents would have done if they caught you drinking under age, and youong teens this is why your are tought your whole life what to do and what not to do bacuse one day your gonna end up really hurting yourself because you didnt want to listen and i understand if yoour parents dont care then they arnt being parents and you will understand that more once you become parent yourself, and for everyone else out there who dont agree with me i really dont care cause its just rediculouse how we are letting out kids litteratly get away with murder these days because parents are getting more lazy about disapline and structure. its just pathetic parents its time we take back who we are and be the parents dont be lazy anymore. and leave this news lady alone she has done nothing wrong and it just doing her job as i have said 3 times alrady. its just a job people. thank you.
Is this the only thing she see's as an issue for teens? What about drugs, gangs, being homeless, sexual abuse, suicide or pregnancy? If you are old enough to give your life for your country at the age of 18, why is it your not old enough to drink a beer?!
Because they don't drink a single beer. They drink several. I know, I've been there. As for fighting for your country and possibly giving your life, thats your choice and not putting someone else in danger. When teens drink and get behind the wheel, you couldn't imagine how many lives are put in danger.
So if you over 21 and get behind the wheel your not putting lives in danger. I know they are not drinking one beer, I am saying there are far worse things than drinking that happens to our teens today. I am very aware of the problems of todays teens, I have a teen. No it is not you choice to fight for your country you are required when you 18 you have to register for the service.
You guys make me sick, this is a problem, my generation is the most lazy and irresponsible generation out there, and with these types of decisions and a we don't have to listen to the rules and authority attitude, we're going to be the ones bringing down this country! Rules are set in place for a reason not to punish us but because at certain ages even if we think we are responsible enough to do certain things WE ARE NOT! These kids and their parents should be ashamed of each other. ITS TIME TO GROW UP, IF YOU HAVE SO MUCH FREE TIME TO SIT AND DRINK GET A JOB! I had two jobs as soon as I got out of high school! And in high school I had more improtant things to do than get "stupid drunk." And what makes me even more sick is everyone is threatnening her really?! I believe each and everyone one of you and them need a serious wake up call. If you believe you are adult enough to handle breaking the law, you need to be adult enough to suffer the consiquences!
I am so sorry you have faced such attacks. This is the way teachers live every day. Imagine holding these same teens responsible for an assignment. None of the parental behaviors were surprising to me. We see the whole range of responses everyday. Just post a low grade, and wait for the onslaught. No matter how much help or how many chances have been given, the parents rage that nothing is the student's fault. They will do anything to get the grade changed. All the while, the local Board of Ed., the State, and the Federal Gov't is beating the teachers for low scores. If you really want to begin an investigation that reveals the cause of educational failure in America... apply your findings about parental responses to drinking to their responses to their student's education. Please, please, please. I live this everyday. The losers are the students. You will be shocked to see how parents behave.
