The rudest drivers I have seen after years of driving across this nation are in San Francisco, the rudest lawyers (oximoron) are from Texas, the rudest people in sports are from New York, and the rudest people are religious zealots from all over.
Dallas Tx being rated 6th out of the top 10 rudest cities don't surprize me at all. One reason out of many is because the Dallas Cowboys gets beat by almost everybody they play at any given time. So many losing seasons creates a bunch of rude people? A 1 billion dollar stadium, and still getting whoop by all the other teams? Yes I think this also creates a bunch of soreheads, and rude people?
They also need to add the sf bay area and silicon valley areas of CA .I lived there for 31 of my 40 years and always thought they had the absolute rudest people . Not to mention no one speaks english there anymore either and they get PO-ed when you cant understand them or they cant understand you. Some how its my fault that i speak the language of the united states. not that they should learn my language
There is an expression, "a fish stinks from its head," and if we look at the culture icons and political headliners; we know the source of bad manners, disrespect & rudeness. The verbal brawling in politics since the 1980s from across the spectrum and accepted at many tea parties rivals the what would cause physical brawls in low class bars. Just because you can say it does not imply that you must!
I am 4th generation from the South. People have been raised with that Southern Hospitality and now my 5th generation children are hospitable as well - I am always complimented on my children, their good manners and warm-hearted ways. We now live in a small rural town in AZ with many big city transplants escaping LA, PHX, etc. The small rural town has some very rude people from these metros. It is everywhere. And is certainly not hospitable. When I walk into a store or other public location, everyone tells me how nice it is to have someone like me (and my children) who are so nice to everyone... I simply say, "it's the way I was raised"! Being nice and smiling is so easy and makes for such a nicer world to live in!
You haven't been to eastern Kentucky!!!! What happens is that these natives leave the area for better lives, thus spreading their rudeness to other parts of the US.
Obviously haven't been to Selma, Alabama. When visiting tourist places, everyone seems so nice and hospitable but go to other places and you experience it. I hate this town.
