All I have to say is - lowering taxes on corporations, lowering taxes on the wealthy, gutting regulations - by the time the Republicans get through with the United States it will be run by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) - don't think that's so crazy either because as the president said, one of the reasons no charges have been laid against the Wall Street execs who tanked the economy is partly to do with the fact they did nothing illegal. The reason the largest diversion of funds upward in history is totally legal is directly tied to a Republican legacy of deregulation. In other words previous Republican administrations have engineered it so that corporate criminality is legal. Given this line of reasoning why would it be so far outside the realm of possibility to say that once these initiatives were in place America wouldn't be ripe for some kind of Chinese takeover - auctioned off to the highest bidder- all perfectly legal and on the books.
Great interview, I am so glad that we have a very intelligent president. I am independent and a physically conservative. I don't like some of the decisions that our president had made, but overall considering the situation that he was put into (by the prior 8 years) and the kind of opposition that he is facing (from republicans; like, 'if Obama is FOR it we are AGAINST it') from the congress, he has done a more than great job. The main thing that I like about the so called 'Obama care' is that, at least this guy had the guts to take the corporate interest and the greedy doctors. If a third world country can treat their citizens cheaper (without insurance) why can't we, the richest country in the world. •If an MRI in a developing country cost $200.00 without insurance, why in the world the same technology in this country cost more than $2000.00, even after insurance. •Why isn't the medical industry transparent? i.e if I go to hospital1 and do a procedure it cost $X and if I do the same procedure in hospital2 it costs $Y. •Why in the world should I have to schedule a surgery to find out how much that will cost me? • Why is that in a poor country when they call 'Emergency' it is treated in an emergency fashion and in this country we have to wait 6 hours in the 'Emergency' with a broken bone? We should change the 'Emergency' departments in the hospitals to 'Non - Emergency' (Don't give me the crap that the 'Illegals' have flooded the Emergency and that is why it takes too long argument. The reason 'illegals' are flooding the so called 'Emergency' is because they don't have any other alternatives. If you have a doctor who takes $30 (without insurance) and is willing to see any patients I bet we would not have this issue of people without insurance going to emergencies) In this country people are brain washed early in schools not to question the system and accept the status quo no matter how corrupt and how worse the systems is. They are not taught how things are in other countries. If you want to know about how other countries deals with issues like this you have to travel to these places and find out yourself. Otherwise I cannot see a reason on why there is so much opposition on when someone trying to change the corrupt and expensive system which practically is not sustainable. The only thing republican influence made to the Health care bill was to water down the bill and add additional incentives for the special interest groups.

I don't really know what people expect. I think they want somebody like Green Latern as President. First of all, just they nature of the office means that his decisions are mostly all done with advisement and approval.The President of this country no matter who they are dosen't just get up in the morning and wave a wand and then poof decisions are made.
I think that the American public have to continue to be engaged in whats really going on. Get out to political functions write your senators, ect. The problem is these individual senators not working together to solve problems. If we want to continue to be a democracy then we have to work together on issues. I have not seen hardly any coverage over the GOPs lack of cooperation. This would make it hard for anyone who was president.
This was a tough interview and although it may seem a little "rude" at times I think he is just playing the devil's advocate and presenting him with the same criticisms a Republican would throw at him. The president was eloquent, calm, and clear headed. These are some of the qualities that I appreciate in a leader. He seems like the same genuine person even after 4 years of being in office. Although I would consider voting Republican, but the likely nominees to take on Obama don't seem that appealing. Gingrich and Romney seem really stale and their hawkish style of approaching Iran simply scares the **** out of me. I don't think the economy will recover any faster under a new president. This downturn was decades in the making.... mind you. Obama is not a magician and neither is Newt or Romney.

WE THE PEOPLE allowed the Bush Administration to take hold of our lives with open arms. Instead of thinking for ourselves, we allowed others to do it for us. Now we expect this country to return to prosperity WITHOUT sacrifice from EVERYONE and we want it now. I would never vote for Pres Obama again. We swept him into office with a clear mandate and a filibuster proof majority to implement that mandate. In those two years he spent all of his time on health care (cutting 500 billion from medicaid for seniors), wall street reform (which has no teeth-wall street profits in the last 3 years are at 90 billion compared to the obscene 80 billion they made under 8 years of Bush), and extended the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. None of these policies addressed the economic problems or job creation we should have addressed. If he would have spent that two years turning the economy around we would have had filibuster proof majorities for as far as the eye could see to take care of the issues i mentioned above. I was very disappointed when he walked away from the debt ceiling deal where the republicans put 300 billion in loophole closures for the rich on the table vs 1.2 trillion in spending cuts. While 300 billion is not enough, it was a good start and it would have put the republicans in a corner. Their major donors would have been upset with them for raising their taxes by closing their favorite loopholes and in future negotiations we could ask, you were for tax hikes back during the debt ceiling debate when it was needed so why are you against them today when they are still needed and the American public would have backed him up on it.
I'm a Republican, I'm employed, a homeowner, father of two, college educated and married, struggling to keep a college education for my kids and retirement at some point realistic options and I fully plan to vote for President Obama in 2012. From where I sit, the politicians of the Republican party have been the single most destructive force in America, unless of course you're a major financial institution or large corporation. Everyone else is part of the herd that they feed on.
