Breuer resigns on the same day PBS's Frontline airs its story on the "untouchables on Wall Street? Now, this is an awesome coincidence or Lanny has reached his goal of "whitewashing" the "Great Wall Street Rip Off" for as long as his office can possibly be expected to resist growing media pressure.. and increasing citizen anger. The election has come and gone, time for Lanny to ride off into the sunset (actually, towards the sunrise) to collect his just reward from those whose owe him big time. One has to wonder, in spite of pronouncements to the contrary, will his boss follow him out the door?
Whistleblowers - Truthful and Honest
Lanny Breuer, head of the criminal division at the Department of Justice needs a polygraph test (his nose is growing just like Disney's Pinoochio, must had been paid off) and so does the SEC enforcement who worked for the Justice Department back in 2005 - 2006 and did nothing to stop the predatory lending of Countrywide. They may be the ones who planned the crime and behind it all so they can sue the rich CEO's and have their high earning jobs and keep greedy lawyers working in the corrupt court systems. Plus make the money off the bundled loans on Wall Street. I always wondered why there was no restitution for the homeowners. Just used us like pawns in a crooked game of chess. Where is law enforcement when you need it...their only around after crime happens instead of catching the crooks in the act. That never happens.
This guy is playing a part for the cameras, and because Steve Kroft is sitting across from him. This corrupt DOJ is in the back pockets of the very people everyone ELSE knows ought to be lifting weights in the prison courtyard and forging some new and interesting male relationships. If you don't think King Obama has laid down the law to help his corporate backers escape justice, you aren't really thinking. My hat is off to the whistleblowers. As for Mr. Breuer and his do-nothing government trough feeders: my twin daughters' full diapers are off to you.
The DOJ has either been bought off buy Wall Street or told by the Obama admin that they need the Wall Street $$ for the next election. Either way the ave guy on Main street pays the price...again.
My god this guy is full of it. Yes they have to prove intent to commit a crime. It's not like he's making out to be though. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and willful ignorance is the same as an intentional act. OUI's get prosecuted all the time and they have no problem proving intent even if the person has no desire to drive before he started drinking. The act of drinking is the intent because a reasonable prudent person in possession of his faculties knows that drinking will cause bad judgment. They should have known what they where doing was a crime. If they didn't , they intentionally ignored what they signed. Excuses excuses excuses
This is justice? I don't believe this attorney general. It is beyond belief that there has been no prosecution against fat cats on wall street, Bank of America, Countrywide, and City Bank. Beyond belief. The corruption runs from congress and obviously the justice department. Thank you 60 minutes for a very disturbing expose on this issue.
CMKX Shareholders will remember Lanny Breuer as the DOJ officer who headed the investigation into the many illegal actions associated with that stock. As far as we can tell, nothing substantive became of that investigation either.
