You are right of course Jules. I was really just commenting on Iceland's treatment of whales in general. Probably because of Obama's recent revoking of sanctions on Iceland for their whaling practice. I'm sure the whale would be safe in an ocean pen. Not sure how he'd make out if he escaped into the surrounding waters of Iceland. I'm guilty of taking a little "artistic license".
Perhaps syrik watched a different video. In the one I saw she doesn't blame the whale. She blames Sea World and their misconception that they can take a whale out of its natural environment, subject it to incarceration in a concrete tank and years of performing tricks which are not part of the whale's natural inclination. Much the same thing as syrik says. One thing I might disagree with in the video interview that I watched was her suggestion that the older whales be "freed" in the ocean to live out their lives in ICELAND. In Iceland, the whale might find itself on people's dinner tables or lighting their oil lamps
Hey babaloo11, Samantha suggested the older whales be "released to an open ocean pen" so the chance that they might end up being hunted should be pretty slim. I don't know all the details, but it certainly sounds like a great option.

Are you kidding me?!?!? it's called A KILLER WHALE!!!! The risk is implied in the name. And what an idiot, blaming the whale....not like the people like her hadn't taken it out of its natural habitat and kept it in a cage all its life. Seriously, people like this should just be made to shut up, makes the rest of humanity look bad.

Cheers!
