The analysis in this story is just plain wrong. The correspondent repeats its lack of confidence that keeps businesses from hiring. In fact, as the featured businessman in the report says, its demand. While businesses like this one may be nervous about the debt ceiling, federal budget, wall street, etc. it is ultimately the lack of demand that makes businesses refrain from hiring.

I'm sure this company is sitting on huge profits instead of making a dent in unemployment. NO TAX cuts for these type of businesses. Come on OBAMA U CAN DO IT.

There is more to this than they are saying. We have an economy that is top-heavy . . . Constant mergers since the 1980's have left nearly nothing but huge corporations. They in turn have implemented high technology solutions that allow them to use less workers, and the high-technology itself is taking jobs - an example would be Border's Book store. If you take a look at what Artificial Intelligence is doing nowdays, it is clear that there are very few jobs that are not threatened by it.
Also, we cannot keep trying to police the world and expect economic growth at the same time. This constant war footing is dragging the nation down. It needs to stop.
