Talk about shabby police work, I am so glad that the new guys in charge of the investigation did the right thing. She is guilty and should spend the rest of her life behind bars. When the police were questioning her about the murder she got very nervous and very defensive for someone who claims she is innocent. I can't wait for August to see if she is convicted.

I saw this when it was first telecast. Saw it again just now. I then looked up to see if there was any conviction or acquittal or an update. Nothing much. I take it the suspect is not in prison. Maybe I missed something? I suspect that the people in charge of the original investigation is on the "hot seat", as well. It is sad indeed that the family of the murdered doesn't get the same consideration that the accused seems to be getting.

The first time I saw a story on this case, I believed there was a "cover-up" for Lazarus. She wasn't even a decorated cop at the time. However, she was an obvious suspect. Back then, it should've been easy for the police to track Lazarus' whereabouts. I believe they did and decided to let her go. Well, I shouldn't say, "they" - whoever was in charge. The first time I saw this story - don't believe it was on here - I got the impression that the officer in charge, in 1986, had a crush on Lazarus.

The cop is guilty as charge and the lead detective who took charge after the murder took place, also should be reprimand of his pension and be subject to prosecution for his arrogant and intimidation.

Have you ever heard of the Thin Blue Line? It is a formidable brotherhood, and I believe cops cover up for other cop's corruption all the time. That original lead detective will NEVER be held accountable for his actions by the system - the cops ARE the system.
