Add "Fair and balance" and civil rights to the three great lies. In addition to that, these are the two biggest hoaxes in America. This whole interview was about keeping racism alive even if it's on a respirator.

You may or may not have notice that the media policy, of not allowing Black citizens to openly and publicly criticize so called black leaders, is still in effect. 60 Minutes could have asked Tavis Smiley or Cornell West to offer opposing view points. Instead they chose a white man and made it look like he's been hounding Rev. Al for twenty years. Also 60 Minutes showed Rev. Al standing up for Gay and immigration rights and standing on the necks of the very people he claims to represent. By showing no Black opposition to Rev Al, the truth about the plight of Black people was exposed; Black people are complicit in their own misery. We, the victims, talk will be talking about this 10 AM wjrm.com on Church and State.

I don't remember having an election were black people voted Al as our leader. I voted in the last election and I don't remember seeing Al Sharpton on the ballot as BLACK LEADER. Would you please stop referring to him as a black leader

@dlman444 - No one knows you. Al Sharpton is a leader. He happens to be Black. And many people like the commenting haters know he is very affective in his mission. That is why they don't like him. If you knew history you would know that Dr. Martin Luther King was not on a ballot. I bet you call him a leader. The same things you are saying about Rev. Sharpton were said by Black people of Dr. King when he was alive. Rev. Sharpton knows history. Again you need to go read history. It wasn't until Dr. King died the haters like U got on the band wagon and acknowledged him as a leader. If you don't know history you are bound to repeat the past.

Reverend Al Sharpton's focus and philosophy ha grown and developed over the years in accordance with the growth and development of the spirit of America and the intentions of America.
Growth and development is a natural occurance of which also affects each child trapped inside Adult prisons across the United States.
That's why Advocates for Abandoned Adolescents is against trying/sentencing/Incarcerating children in the adult criminal justice system.
To say that a person will stay the same lacks the vision portrayed by Reverend Sharpton, like him children have the ability to achieve personal growth and development.

I am so sick and tired of this clown Al Sharpton. He is not a spokesman for Blacks nor is he MY leader because I don't have a leader.Sharpton is just a clown who has been co-opted by Obama. He has toned himself down because he has access to Obama and he wants to keep that access.

Obama paid 3,000,000 dollars to Black radio hosts like Sharpton as well as Black blogs that he feel are positive for him, last year before the midterms to talk strategy on convincing Blacks to support Obama and The Democrats and anyone that listens to any Black radio knows that all of these hosts are always making suggestions about how Blacks should ONLY support Obama, which is why I stick to community radio or satellite where I don't have to listen to that nonsense propaganda.

It's crazy for anyone to try and tell any race of people that they can't criticize a politician because we don't serve politicians, they claim they are servants of the people,I already know that's a farce....I am sick and tired of people acting as if Blacks owe a man of Half White origin something in particular but I don't see those same demands being made on Whites who are more his people than even American Blacks because Obama is actually half African and I'm tired of Obama and his minions acting as if Blacks owe him,I owe him nothing.

Blacks like Sharpton act as if Blacks are all supposed to be on one accord and that has never happened because like other races,Blacks are not monolithic and I won't let anyone brainwash me into believing that Blacks must be just because they are Black....

Obama has made every effort to distanced himself from Blacks and that is why I distanced myself from Obama....I am so tired of the LIE that a man who was born out of a White woman is a Black man,GIVE ME A MASSIVE BREAK FROM THAT LIE!

Leslie, commend you on a job well done on showing the world who Al Sharpton is. I learned something new from the interview. Al is in the Civil Rights business. I am an African American, and I can tell you that this clown does not represent the over whelming majority of African Americans in this country. Al Sharpton lead a small group of hyper sensitive African Americans who can find something racism in a bowl of oat meal. To Al Sharpton and his small group of followers, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Riley, and Sarah Palin are a greater threat to the African community that the Crips, Bloods, drug dealers, and murderers combined.

Congratulations, Leslie. You've done it again. You've shown us just how yellow journalism can be. You showed just how partial, red-necked, and self-serving a journalist can be while doing a story. I don't know whether to be more irritated with you or with 60 minutes management for giving you the story. They had to know what a ****-poor job you would do. And you had the camera more on your face than on Mr. Sharpton's making sure we saw just how much you disliked him, dis-believed what he was saying. Wasn't that the whole point you were trying to make Leslie?

Is his provocative? Yes. Is his inflammatory? Not nearly as much as people you give a pass, or who you label fail to label with such marginalized descriptors. How about Ginguich, or Bill O'Reilly or many other such highly-opinionated hate mongers who really only serve themselves.

I think you're just jealous. I think you just hate the fact that he's still in the public eye despite people like you who try to pull him out of it. I think you hate the fact that he can say what he likes, fight the fights he has and still make over a million dollars annually--especially as a black man. I think it bothers you that he has access to the most powerful man in the world, who you probably dislike as well. So you tried to do a 1-2 punch on them both by maligning MR. Sharpton while showing his connection with the President. Well even you don't get to decide who the President befriends and who enjoys success and the ability to evolve his influence over time. You should be ashamed for this piece of trash you called news. You should be ashamed of how you disgrace journalism and free press and lead the way for others to do the same and worse thinking it must be okay if someone like you has done it. We are no better off because of people like you. And the other gentlemen you included in this interview who just revoiced your own opinion, who is he to decide what Al Sharpton is? Just because he believes what he believes, it doesn't make it so. And just because a judge labelled Twana Brawley a liar, that doesn't make it so either. Even someone like you should know that. So your little rant about such things proving truth shows you to be very childish--very disgraceful for someone your age. I'm ashamed of you. Hopefully someday you'll grow up. Either that or decide to do something else for a living.

Huh?! I don't know if you saw the same video I saw, but what you are describing of Ms Stahl I did not see. And I am pretty objective. I saw her ask questions that her viewers would want to ask. And I thought Sharpton answered well. If anything he isn't saying he is some holier-than-thou. And it is clear he is saying that he has made positive changes along the way... even as much as America has made positive changes in the last 20 years.

Well said bdwilkerson! They made sure to get her disdain for him on camera. I've always been a fan of 60 minutes but this was akin to a Fox News show. The bias was so over the top I'm appalled. I studied journalism myself so this is basic 101 (no insertion of your own views/opinions). As I stated before if I wanted right wing bias I'd go over to Fox News.
