I'm not sure if he's innocent or guilty. However, the case did remind me of the movie Coma in regard to the possible deliberate CO poisoning. Truth is stranger than fiction. If he's innocent then I hope he's granted a new trial and is exonerated. If he's guitly then I hope he remains in prison.

Her lung tissue should have been tested and results told to jury. He sounded upset to me on the 911 call. I think widows tend to marry fairly fast after a mate dies. I also feel the boys knew their father and would have came to a guilty conclusion if they felt he did it, like most kids do while they sit through court. I have to say I think he's innocent based on this program's report.

To til38... every reputable forensic lab contacted by the prosecution turned the analysis down: Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ohio State Patrol, FBI... The University of Wisconsin lab is not a forensic lab, and had never tested surface samples for exhaust particles, only air samples. Their "expert" had never testified in a court of law before. Their lab book was full of cross-outs and drenched in coffee. Yet, they were still able to determine that the chemicals on the duct work and vent covers in the Wangler home were found in higher concentrations on a vent cover from a neighbor's home... a fact they tried to hide from the defense until we discovered in December.

As a former police officer, I am apalled at the lack of evidence and the fact that this should never have been before a court at all. The verdict is unbelievable. My thoughts are with you at what must be a very difficult time ewangler.

It sounds like a very unhappy marriage that neither party was willing to leave (just out of inertia) and Mark does not give me any warm and fuzzy feelings, but that does not seem enough for a conviction. If nothing else, I don't think he would have risked his own life by the carbon monoxide he supposedly poisoned her with.

I'm not saying that he's innocent, I just don't think the prosecution proved its case and you can't convict someone just because you don't like him-I have reasonable doubt and I'm usually the first person to say that the person is guilty as sin in the first 5 minutes of the episode.

We have to remember that this program is only so long and can only include so much detail. In every case there is much more evidence than what is actually shared with us as viewers. Like the results from the lab that did the testing on the duct work, for starters.....

If Kathy's "mother" were interested in something besides personal gain, why is she suing for the money the boys got from the insurance?
Apple didn't fall too far from the tree there, did it?

To 12gh90... I'd love to get my husband out of prison, but we can't even file the appeal until the detective's wife types the official transcript, which she says will take her 6 months. That's right, she is the court recorder, and the judge will do nothing about the conflict of interest or this unnecessary delay. The prosecution also won't give us the key piece of evidence they withheld from us till trial... Kathy's lung tissue, that they claim they never tested. If there were no particles from engine exhaust in her lungs, I think that would be real evidence, now, wouldn't it? What are they afraid of?

I just saw this case today and I am truly sorry. I cannot believe the verdict and how they can find him guilty. I think you should threaten to take this to the media. I am sure if more people know about this they will back you up. If I had money I would absolutely help you fight for his freedom, but unfortunately I don't. All I have is my prayers to you. Hope that you stay strong and continue to fight this battle. I believe God lead you two to find each other. Good luck!

I'm stunned by this case. I was shocked to see this man found guilty. All the "evidence" in the journals were taken out of context...one of the in-laws even describes what "she thinks" he meant regarding his descriptions of Satan being an allusion to his wife. What a pile of nonsense. Clearly, the two of them were in a terrible marriage and he's the type that wouldn't be running around bellowing about this to anyone who would listen. He even hesitates to criticize his marriage to the interviewer. I felt compassion for the man when his deepest thoughts from his journal were made public.

A travesty of justice! Please someone get that guy out of jail until they can find some substantial evidence rather than the hearsay of those hostile women he had for in-laws.

The doctor gave me the creeps and the way he screamed at the 911 operator needing prompting to check for breathing and a pulse was just like the prosecutor said, "staged". The medical examiner also had some doubts about the time of discovery of her death. Perhaps he should have waited a while before marrying someone else, that may have made him less of a suspect. However, I believe that juries usually get these matters right, and if they can't agree, they deadlock and a mistrial is declared. That did not happen. This lady also predicted her own demise.
The doctor was self absorbed and religiously preoccupied. I think he is guilty and was correctly convicted.

since you are so knowlgeable in the whole situation, did you know that he was in the airport in Atlanta when he found he was to be the killer? He could have gotten back on the plane and gone back to Africa instead of turning himself in to the Allen county Sheriff? Or that they couldn't be bothered to pick him up so he had to drive in himself? Is that the act of a guilty person?
If he gave you the "creeps', maybe you are just a shallow person.
