- Your segment on the Equity Project School left me with several unanswered questions. I noticed the students were wearing uniforms. Is this customary in New York schools? Are parents supportive of uniforms, resistant to the requirement? How is this resistance handled? Is the Equity Project school required to accept all students who choose to attend? How involved are parents? Are they required to be more involved than parents of children in New York Public Schools? As an educator with more than 30 years experience, I am well aware that discipline and parent support are at least as important to student success as highly qualified teachers.
