I don't believe this story! And if that man has been abused in his childhood, he's one of the rare cases who came out of it successfully and all in one piece...It's almost an insult for the rest of us who suffer the consequences of the abuse and violence for the rest of their lives!!! Most of us struggle with drug and alcohol abuse and all kinds of self destructive patterns...Jails are filled with people who have suffered abuse of all kinds, neglect and abandon in their youth...So please, go look for pity somewhere else, you spoiled brat!!! What else? You want me to start crying for you, Mr. Senator? Why don't you come walk one mile in MY shoes??? You sure don't win no vote from me... You disgust me!!!

To all the adults who are posting negative and nasty comments. Look through the eyes of the child you once were. Those who are lucky to not have had something like this happen, should understand this is a devastating and life changing experience. Another fact, kids who are staying silent right now gravitate toward abuse stories in order not to feel alone..one step before they get brave enough to tell someone..they will also see these comments and even if all the kids don't understand the anger..they will understand it isn't safe to speak up if this is how adults act.so I am asking the community to please be sensitive enough to get your point across without engaging in thoughtless comments.

John McCain befriended Brown during his campaign in Mass. After I read that story, I know the TEA had made a big mistake and were made out to be fools. The TEA are too nice a bunch of people and lacks the guts that is needed to win like for keeps. People who win, must be willing to give their all, including their lives and the lives of the people they are fighting for. Nice guys do finish last.

There are some real jerks commenting here. I'm a conservative guy who supported Scott Brown, and still do. Yes, I don't agree with some of his votes (such as the Start Treaty and his financial reform vote), but he's still a good guy. He has to represent his state too, and like it or not, Massachusetts is a liberal state, so he can't legislate as if he's from Alabama. Being of one party doesn't mean you always vote lock-step with that party. To call him a traitor and other ad hominem attacks is absurd and I am suspicious about these comments. They are really ignorant people or posers trying to make conservatives look bad. If you are the former, please stop providing a template that liberals so often assign to conservatives. If you are the latter, please bugger off.

THIS IS HIS EXCUSE FOR BETRAYING THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HIM AND CONTRIBUTED MONEY FOR HIS VICTORY.

He is a lier, a fraud and a US Senator by mistake. He was abused as a child and now he gets even by abusing us today.

First to all of you calling him a rino let me try and erase your ignorance. HE IS FROM MASSACHUSETTS FOR GOD SAKES! I am a republican living in this liberal filled, welfare fraud ridden aunt zatuni housing state! This isn't Iowa or new Hampshire. Trust me I hate it and I'd move if I could but let me be clear. SCOTT BROWN IS THE BEST REPUBLICAN THIS GOD AWFUL LIBERAL STATE CAN PRODUCE TO OCCUPY ONE OF OUR SENATE SEATS! Is he perfect? No! Does he **** me off sometimes? Yes. Will I vote for him again? Yes! Why? Because its brown or a Kennedy clone. What the Hell would you do?

It takes a tremendous amount of courage for a man to admit to such a thing. Leave the politics out of this one, people. He's doing a great service to all those boys/men who've suffered at the hands of other boys and men. We need to start talking about this and letting our boys know they shouldn't be ashamed if it happens to them. Until this is out in the open there will be more victims.

Thank you, Scott Brown! We love and admire you for this!

Did he tell this story to the Army board who nominated him for his promotions. Did he tell us this story (is it true) before running for the US Senate. Why should anyone believe this story?

Well raising awareness that a person can go through the inferno and emerge in adulthood, shake the dust from one's feet, and get on with it is a nice thing to do. Everybody is going to have an opinion though, and most of them are going to be negative, fact of life. Just do us all (and especially yourself) a favor, Scott. Stop being a patsy for people who mean no good, that's a lesson you need to devote some attention to, and good luck!
