- I would like to know what makes Represenative Charlie Rangel above the law? Rep. Rangel walked out on his ethics hearing today and nothing was done about it. Everyday citizens can be subpoenaed to go before Congress, etc. and if we just got up and walked out we would go to jail no questions asked. This is another classic example of politicians doing what they want, when they want. The bottom line here is they are above the laws they pass that everyone else has to follow. The laws in this country are nothing but double standards! "Do as I say, not as I do"
