Now do a follow up story with someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to cloth diapers. Neither of those women have a clue. There was zero research done before this was presented. The pedi mentions other types of cloth diapers. Where were they? Don't you think if you're going to tell viewers about something you should have it there to present to them. Bad bad reporting. You failed with this one CBS.

What a horrible story. While the pediatrician was describing how easy it is to put on, take off, and dispose of the disposable diaper I couldn't help but think, "How is this any different than what I do with my cloth?!" Then the reporter goes on to say how she once carried around a poopy disposable diaper but if your going to do that then get cloth and a wet bag. If this was a real story about disposable vs. cloth then you need to actually have those modern cloth diapers to show the audience. Seriously, who in their right mind would use those horrible Gerber diapers for anything other than a burp cloth. If you are going to show a prefold get one that people actually use and a snappi. Horrible horrible "reporting."

What a ridiculous piece of journalism. Since when does diapering require a medical expert? She doesn't even know what she is talking about.

"Old Fashioned but Green". Really? Have you seen a modern diaper? This isn't 1950.

You don't have to buy as many cloth diapers? Try 24-36 cloth diapers vs 6000 single use plastic diapers that don't decompose.

You forgot to acknowledge that the chemicals in plastic diapers can CAUSE rash.

Great advice. Wrap your poop in plastic AND put it in a plastic bag? Then put it in a landfill instead of sending it to the waste water treatment plant.

$15-17 for the big box vs 12 pack of prefolds for $15, huh? You forgot to multiply that $17 big box being purchased EVERY WEEK For 2.5 years vs buying 3 dozen cloth diapers TOTAL. In this economy, $150 vs $1800 or more is a SIGNIFICANT difference in cost.

wow, what a horrible look at cloth diapers. This is journalism at it's worst. Didn't even show the good cloth diapers, only the horrible Gerber ones that everyone uses for burp cloths. Get educated CBS. More and more people are using cloth and you can't even do your research to get a real cloth diaper on your show? Come on!!! All you have to do is go online for 5 minutes and you would find out all you need to know. Once again the media is biased and working for the big companies. Shame on you. Do a real story showing BOTH sides for pete's sake.

What a disgusting, biased, piece of garbage video! If that woman is actually a pediatrician she had better stay away from my kids. I have never used pins with my prefolds (ummmm, hello! Snappies!). The lack of research into this bit of fluff is something CBS should be ashamed of. And to say that pediatricians recommend disposables over cloth for diaper rash is exactly the opposite of everything I have EVER read on treating diaper rash. SHAME SHAME SHAME on whoever put this bit together. Go back to school and learn how to report on something. We cloth diaper 90% of the time, so if you want me to come on and give my opinion on both types of diapering I would be more then happy to. Now use a computer, and go do some research before you waste our time again.

Oh, and Dr. Alanna Levine.........please don't waste our time again either. You sounded like an idiot.

I really hate that they didn't actually show any of the cloth diapers the doctor said were easier than prefolds (and not even good prefolds! who uses gerber, really???). And you don't have to use pins, just use a snappi... way easier and SO MUCH SAFER! They have snap diapers, velcro diapers, one size diapers... if they would have researched the subject at all, they would have been able to give an actual informed interview. When it comes down to it, they pretty much just said to trash the earth, who cares what remains for our children's children.
They should have an INFORMED INTERVIEW with the BumGenius Cotton Babies founder :
Jenn was the founding chair of the Real Diaper Industry Association. She works tirelessly to push the entire industry forward. To be taken seriously, Natali must be an educated look at our entire industry and the issue of modern cloth diapering. Jenn can be reached at jenn@cottonbabies.com.

I thought this was supposed to be a news broadcast? Natali di Conti should be embarrassed to call herself a journalist, this was more like a QVC piece on disposable diapers. Modern cloth diapers like BumGenius, Fuzzibunz and all the other brands previously mentioned are nothing like the pre-folds in your "story". I agree with the other parents that you could at least have had someone who knows about cloth diapers on the show, but that might have spoiled your advertisement for disposables. Shame on you CBS for trying to pass this off as news.

If you need a good reason to switch to cloth, google the MSDS for Sodium Polyacrylate. Do you really want that on your baby?!

What a disgusting interview.... that was just bad reporting. Was it paid for by Huggies by chance??
You did not even show modern cloth diapers that are just as "easy" as disposables. No one uses pins anymore..and if anyone had bothered to do any research at all they would have known that!
I am angered and disgusted that in a world that is burying itself in garbage you even would say that disposable diapers are not that bad.. ummm, hello, mountains and mountains of feces in the landfill that seeps into the ground water and the diapers themselves take years to decomose.
And you are supposed to be dumping poop into the toilet even if you are using disposables.
Maybe next time show some real cloth diaper..maybe some AppleCheeks or some Bummis. They are economical, cute, healthy for baby bums and best of all, they will not leave a world of pollution for the next generation to clean up.
