Great quality video! Think I saw Nancy Pelosi in it. Stupid Viagra ad that proceeded it shows who ever made ad never drove an older car. Pulling cap off hot radiator would be better for severe burn medication ad.

The Niles Silent Film Museum, where historian David Kiehn works to preserve, display and educate about silent films, is a wonderful and fascinating place, as is the historic town of Niles. I recommend a visit if you are interested in these important records of early 20th Century culture.

I have been watching this film with total wonderment for some time on YouTube. More then contemplating these poor soul's impending doom- I rather marvel at their faces and outdated strides. How utterly surprised they are when they see the camera. And most of all the antics of the kids. Kudos to Mr. Kiehn for discovering the film's makers and pinpointing the time it was created- but I must express an observation I have contrary to what he said about certain cars being hired for the effect of added congestion. There may have been only 4000 automobiles in the US at the time but it isn't reasonable to assume the majority of those automobiles belonged to people who inhabited the urban centers rather then those who lived in the 'ill paved' country. I say this only because the pedestrians pay no attention to the automobile's presence. They all appear habituated with so much congestion. Now, unless they (the pedestrians), were hired actors as well- I believe we're getting a true unadulterated glimpse of what must have been one of the most exciting places to live on the planet. Thank you Mr. Kiehn for your tireless work.... And thank you 60 Minutes for airing a very interesting 'tidbit' of current events.

I haven't seen Morley Safer in years. Jeez, he sounds awful. Mike Wallace stayed too long and it makes me sad to see Morley this way.
