Thank you CBS for airing this positive story. Ms. Turner did an excellent job explaining the story with a warm sincere delivery.I just finished reading "The Lost Dogs" and I have to say...it made me cry and get angry. I did laugh at some of the parts where "Jonny Justice" begins his rehab. Many of us who are responsible Pit bull owners, know how incredibly loving and loyal the breed is.This story is very important because it proves that these dogs can be great pets in spite of their abusive past.In the state of Colorado where I reside, the city of Denver has one of the most severe Pit bull breed bans in place. They have euthanized close to 2000 Pit bulls since 2005. They were not from dog fighting rings, or vicious dogs. Most of them were family pets.People lost their dogs just because they happened to be born as Pit bulls.I often wonder why no one from any of the major networks has ever done a story on Denver's breed ban.It is truly a newsworthy subject.

Thank you CBS for doing this story on the dogs. I work with a PB rescue group, and it's not surprising that Bad Rap has such success. Still, it's good to see in public. Nike should should sponsor THEM as real role models. Don't look for it anytime soon.

As for Vick, I think his immediate acceptance back into "society" says a lot about our values. Would the public have rallied around a fringe person as quickly? Would the public have rallied around a guy from the slums or a woman from a trailer park. Only if they could win ballgames, I guess.

So, don't worry Vick. America will accept you as long as you can win ballgames. They don't really care about the awful things you did. Torturing dogs is fine with America. We'll forgive you . . . obviously. You may even make the Hall of Fame one day. After all, it's not like you did something we can't forgive, like bet on a game. Ask Pete Rose about that. If he would have electrocuted and drowned dogs for fun, he'd be in the Hall of Fame right now.

What does that say about us as Americans?

For folks like myself who do work to help dogs it thrills me that this story is getting so much attention. There is 99% good news here for dogs and the people who help them. Could it be that open hearts have prevailed in this story despite the cruelty? When we learn how to be with dogs in a loving way many more things become possible for us and for them. I've taught people for many years how to "first, do no harm" with energy techniques for dogs and the folks who have stepped up to help the Vick dogs are truly amazing human beings. Thanks to all of them from all of us who love our dogs.

I watched the Eagles game on Sunday feeling like it was an extremely guilty pleasure - Michael Vick is an incredibly talented quarterback and he is exciting to watch. But as I watched the game with my two pit bulls at my feet, I had so many mixed emotions.

Then, I saw this segment the next morning on The Early Show.

Look, what he did was absolutely horrendous and it cost him nineteen months in prison(!) not to mention millions of dollars. I think he learned his lesson.

This story about the redemption of the dogs brought tears to my eyes and after seeing it, I feel much better about his getting another chance in the NFL.

I just pray that he watched this segment and understands exactly what he did wrong and why so many animal lovers will hate him always.

And that he is never again allowed near any dog!

I would like to thank the early morning show for portraying pit bulls in a positive manner. These days it seems like most of the media is just looking for sensationalism.Any thing they think will bring attention ,readers or viewers.I adopted two wonderful dogs that are often judged by there breed and not there actions. As far as MV goes here`s my thoughts on him and those who say he made a mistake and is being unfairly judged after he paid for his crimes. His actions were unfathomable to me and by my standards barbaric inhuman and consistent with serial killers. Many who start be torturing and murdering animals.A mistake is like an accident it only happens once.not a pattern or cycle of animal abuse perjury and drug abuse.God created man,man created dog and in my opinion was supposed to be responsible for there treatment. If voicing my opinion is judging him I`m guilty. In the end I know he will be judged and not be me.In my opinion One going down!

Wonderful story. Unbelievable that NFL allowed Vick to play again. It's evident that he does not care about what he did - his remorse is disingenuous. Pitbulls get a bad rap because of horrible humans. We need stiffer penalties for animal cruelty.

Sorry, myownthoughts, I can't agree.
Michael Vick is a defective unit. No amount of rehabilitation or council will change that. Dogs, on the other hand are victims and they can recover once the trauma and abuse stops.
He should never be allowed to inflict his sick appetites on another creature ever again.
He lacks a seriously big part of his psyche called empathy.
That cannot be implanted or taught. He is defective. End of.

This story reminds us of the horrible cruelty of Michael Vick. Vick will always be a monster. He should still be in prison for what he's done..

mountainstates1, I hope you never make a mistake in your life and have people condem you forever even though you have done your best to fix the situation, you have served your time, and you have changed your life. Have you ever heard of forgiveness? Its an amazing thing. The world would be a much better place if people didnt hold grudges or hate after the situation has been resolved. In my eyes, you mountainstates1 are the monster. Maybe you should be locked away for being judgemental even though the bible says you have no right to judge others.

I am proud of Michael Vick and the changes he has made.
