Does ANYONE out there really believe that this country would have been better off had the President not put a stop to the economic collapse by giving bailouts to those that caused it? Where does anyone think we would be today if the former President's party had remained? As the doctor would say, it will be worse before it gets better. However, the famous saying, 'it's always darkest before dawn' applies here. If people can't see the improvements that have been made already, then they are blind - and they don't realize how BAD it really was. It's still the BANKS that are behind the slow recovery - for failing to partake in the programs set up to HELP people deal with their under-water mortgages, and start up new businesses! The banks are the ones that got us into this mess, and they are still allowed to hold up the progress. We do not live in a dictatorship where the government TELLS the people and businesses and banks what to do, no, it's free choice, but it's clear that the almighty dollar and the desire for greater profits over even a little human kindness is what rules the day. It's great when THEY want their freedom to practice their preferred religion, but Lord help the people that think differently than they do! I'm glad the President only meant to 'remind' us that this country was built on religious freedom - may it remain so!; reply
