@ericrambaud, I'd just like to point out that Mark Strassman's hands at the beginning of the clip were both in full view. His one gloved hand was already dirty at the beginning of the clip, indicating that he had been digging around in the oil/sand mixture before they started taping. Even if he was hiding his hand (which he wasn't) I fail to see what he was misleading people about. The point is that oil is not just floating at the surface of the water like we all thought, but that it has, in fact, gone through the water column to the bottom and has contaminated the sand. This poses even more of a threat to benthic organisms and the animals that feed on them.
Dear Katie, Just a little observation regarding the Mark Strassmann's footage on CBS news evening dated 06.15.2010. At the beginning of the report, when Mark is talking in the middle of the bay, it seems pretty evident that Mark Strassmann is hiding is glove behind himself, as if it was already dirty. I am sure number of your viewer had notified this misleading details. Many thanks.
Respectfully yours.
