The Eastern seaboard of the United States of America is a priceless National Treasure which cannot be bought for any amount of money or replaced once it has been desecrated.

This incident was not an accident, but rather it was an accident waiting to happen. In many ways it is worse than 9/11, but the attackers have not been terrorists - they've been cowboys.

A pilot has to check his landing gear before taking off, and an oil company should be required to check that their blow out preventer is working before placing it over a well. Commonsense.

BP can hardly drill wells safely let alone clean up their mess, so they shouldn't be involved at all in the clean up operation which is only distracting them from plugging the well. Commonsense.

McDonald's had to pay $2.7 million punitive damages when a single cup of hot coffee was spilled on one customer.

How many billions will BP have to pay in punitive damages for desecrating the Gulf and the Eastern seaboard of the USA with millions of gallons of oil?

If we do not do everything in our power as individuals and a nation to stem the effects of this spill future generations will curse us, as rightfully they should. There will be plenty of time to put the blame where it belongs later, and some people should go to jail, but right now all of our strength needs to be focused on preparing as a nation now to lessen the effect it will have.

Let?s stop talking and start an all out mobilization of every resource we have, including our troops overseas, to tackle the disaster head on. Right now over 10 times the oil released by the Valdez is making its way to the surface and the shores from Mexico to Canada are in its path. We do not have much time, please call everyone you know and pass this message on. Call and write your Congressman and Senator and tell them to stop whatever they are doing and concentrate on directing the government to provide training and resources to fight this. This is a war, the enemy is arriving so soon there is no time to waste. We all should treat this like a battle we cannot afford to loose. The oil will not wait for us to debate what needs to be done, so drastic measures need to be taken NOW. Please pass this on to every person you know. It is bigger than BP, bigger than the entire oil & gas industry and bigger than any state or federal agency, this is a world disaster and delay in responding equals failure.

We have a government by the people, the people need to act now to move the government, please do your part. Thank you for reading this and keep in mind: What will you tell your grandchildren you did to fight the biggest man made disaster in history?

Now BP, with the RRT approval is carrying out the major oil company playbook on how to not clean up a spill and leave it to the public to clean up. Since the Valdez spill, spill response has not improved. They always bring out booms who's end result is ZERO, they try to skim a little oil, they apply toxic dispersants, never ever addressing all the spill, and then leave. Then when the tar balls started coming a shore the oil companies would claim these tar balls came from somewhere else not us. This is not only true for spills in the US, but world wide.
As I have predicted to Senator A G Crowe and others dispersants are following expectations exactly in the Gulf. In the past, an oil spill event did not last long enough for the current inadequate spill response to be exposed. There is however a non toxic alternative that BP and the RRT has known about for 20 years OSE II. To date not one person has been able to give a substantiated reason as to why not to use OSE II ( who's test to become listed on EPA's NCP, had to substantiate the fact that OSE II remediates oil to CO2 and water) (dispersants are not held to this standard they merely need to show they sink a certain amount of oil in a certain amount of time) with its 21 years of experience as a first and only non toxic 100% gain response tool. OSE II has been used on over 14,000 spills, of which over 4500 of them were on fresh and salt water spills on the open ocean, in numerous ports and harbors overseas, and in the San Diego Bay by the US Navy, of which the US EPA is fully aware of. It really does not even make financial sense not to use OSE II which will address 100% of the spill which will prevent the oil from contaminating the water column, the ocean floor, and then rolling up on the shore as tar balls, which will then cause BP to address the same oil a second time, and the second clean up comes with law suites for resorts being unable to attract vacationers, not to mention adverse reactions to shrimp, and oyster beds as well as fishing. Following the old playbook no matter how outdated, no matter how costly seems more important than the safe non toxic alternative
This spill response makes no sense from any standpoint. Why does BP continue to use a zero sum gain response that causes numerous consequences which have been depicted for years, and now is going to increase there spill response costs exponetially; when there is a viable 100% gain non toxic response with extensive experience.
These are some of the topics that I would like to discuss with these people personally, and with state government witnesses.

That information, if accurate, is CRITICAL to the lives and livelihoods of millions of people and families not only living on the Gulf coast but around this country . . . PLEASE, stay on this and don't quit!!! If there is anything a Dallas girl can do to help you in this endeavor, I would be incredibly willing. I have vacationed on those beaches my entire life and my heart aches at the fact that my son (10) may only have memories of how great it is . . . was . . . I am trying to understand why we are letting these 'criminals' clean up their own mess . . . clearly they are not to be trusted at what they do . . . CUT CORNERS!!! All of us in this country are becoming ill (physically and in our hearts) for these families and the ecosystems that are being DESTROYED by a few "men" and their GREED!! GET THEM OUT OF THERE AND GET YOUR OSE II into the hands of someone who can get out there and get to using it!!! I pray for you and your efforts to succeed!! Bless you.

you sound like an OSEII Salesperson. It would be interesting to know why if this stuff is really the Ultimate Solution with 100% of the spill totaly cleaned up with no toxic problems. Ill believe it when it happens on a large scale like this. Have you ever had a good breath of CO2? This stuff may have had limited sucess with much smaller amounts of oil to clean up. This latest oil spill isen't even a spill it was a gusher and there was no way to deliver a bunch of OSE down to the contamination site in quantities large enough to do what you say it will.
