Kagan was an educator, educational institution administrator and has written articles for legal journals. She may be qualified to be a great many things. It remains to be seen if she is VERY qualified to be on the Supreme Court. I recall that Barack Obama, even as a Senator of the United States, held Jeremiah Wright to be a very intelligent and honorable mentor, citizen and pastor. That doesn't mean Wright should sit on the Supreme Court. If a judgment of how she intends to use this unchecked power of a lifetime appointment is to be made, let it be based on the issue of her mouth and mind. She has told us. We now must listen. Then we can decide if that's where we really want the Supreme Court to go.

Sorry, smoknmirrors, "we" don't get to decide "where we really want the Supreme Court to go." The Supreme Court "goes" in the direction that the constitution allows it to travel, not down the road of public opinion.

Kagan is an educator and legal scholar who is very qualified to be on the Supreme Court. If President Obama has confidence in her as a very intelligent and honorable woman who will be an great addition to the court I will support her nomination. We need more intelligent Democrats to combat the right wing republican court members.
