Thank you CBS for a fair report regarding global warming science.
As a scientist and educator, I am tired of seeing the ?consensus? term used to confirm claims that man is responsible for the climate change. In science, ?consensus? is only as good as the last experiment. Einstein said, ?No amount of experimentation can prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong.? Most major media outlets will not allow scientists critical of the ?consensus? to be heard.
They have been compared to Holocaust deniers. In science, this criticism is intolerable.
As Carl Sagan said ?The suppression of uncomfortable ideas may be common in religion and politics, but it is not the path to knowledge; it has no place in the endeavor of science.?
Follow the money. Al "HOT AIR" Gore has made MILLIONS on this global warming farce and he's just a tip of the "iceberg." Thank you CBS for
having the courage to expose climategate for what it is... Just another grab for money (taxes) and power in the form of the cap and trade bill. Oh I almost forgot....spreading the wealth to third world countries for their dictators to steal and squander. It is unblieveable to me intelligent people have actually fallen for this scam.
Good story. Seems like it's another sad sad day for the warmers.
But really, when a "scientist" picks and chooses the data he likes, and hides the ball when someone comes looking for the truth, there's obviously something that should stink to high heaven.
How is it possible that an opinion piece was presented as peer-reviewed fact? How is it possible that the peer-review process was abused to exclude differing views? How is it possible that basic facts such as the area of the Netherlands below sea level are misstated?
And that's just to name a few issues.
It all points to sloppy work. Sloppy work is usually an indication of ends driving the work, not scientific discovery.
I'm only amazed it took this many years for the glaring errors to be brought to light. Many thanks go to the anonymous hackers who released the emails that in turn opened the floodgates.

The UN has not responded to the International Climate Science Coalitions' (ICSC) Copenhagen Climate Challenge, an open letter to the UN Sec Gen asking that the basic observational data that supports the climate scare be shared with anyone. The recent 'gates' seem to tell us why they do not want to share much of the underlying data. Here is our open letter, endorsed now by 160 leading climate experts (we still welcome endorsers):
SHAME ON CBS. Airing these crackpots for the last 3 months has been a fraud perpetrated by the 'deniers' of the FOX News crowd. Your are welcome to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The overwhelming evidence and scientific consensus is that global warming is a real threat, and is accelerating, but that is'inconvenient'. It is sad that the party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt is now owned by the propaganda machines of oil and coal corporate interests, and the people that say they are 'conservatives' and 'Christians' are destroying the planet that God gave man dominion over.
CBS you just GAINED a loyal viewer. Bravo for finally exposing fraud in the global warming mess. Some of us who've been reading the science on-line for many months know there are multiple problems with the theory including: the earth is cooling now, not warming; no one has ever PROVEN a link between CO2 and temperatures; the arctic ice cap melted in a similar fashion in the 20's and 30's; polar bears are thriving; government scientists are lying to keep the grant money coming; the hockey stick was exposed as fraud, the IPCC keeps dissenters out, and so on and so forth. Now that you've opened the door, we need more in-depth coverage. Too much is at stake with cap and trade and our faltering economy. Follow the money!!! Give us more!!!
I beleive in this climate change the ice burgs have been melting more_n_more faster each year, and to me when people see it than to deny it than we are all screwed, when our polution is killing our ozone layer isnt helping either too with climate changes as well, by the time this crisis will happen, hope we have enough time to do something to protect us all, its predicted about this in the bible, earthquakes, tsunamis,etc....... that cant be denied as we all see this with our own eyes.!!!!
This was complete hatchet job, using an weeks old story on the summary UN doc that mistakingly mistyped (reversed numbers) when the main docs were correct, and not even explaining it correct. Using Mann twice as if they were two different issues and quickly moving through the only current news of the day that he was cleared by a scientific panel ( you know science, right, those who strive to find facts like you used too). Is this Fox News or CBS. Sorry you just lost a viewer.

(Thanks CBS for airing this segment. Enjoyed the video too!)
