I watched the interview with the 8 year old about being on the "watch" list. My husband and I can related to this young boy and his father's plight. We too, are on a watch list. Our last name is Stewart. My husband served in the armed forces during the Viet Nam war, also had a classified clearance while we were stationed in Germany, yet we can not check-in oline, and we are singeled out at the check-in desk, no matter what airline. We contacted TSA, received a letter saying that we were taken off the list, however, we are still detained. We have finally received a letter with a number for both of us that we can give the airlines when we buy tickets on-line. We are traveling in March to Florida, so we shall see if we can check-in online or if we need to go the check-in desk at the airport. We do realize that our country needs to be very careful, but as stated in your interview, "how could the Christmas Day bomber be allowed on board when he was on the no-fly list"? and yet this 8 year old and his father, and my husband and myself are detained.
Thank you for your time.
Linda Stewart
