I'd take Sarah Palin's word over any of these guys, anyday. As far as MCCain's top stratigist, that was the worst campaign I have ever seen. Palin was the only bright spot. As for the liberal press who are scared to death of her and work overtime to try and take Sarah down, not working, she gets more and more popular despite all your lies about her. Very poor job Cooper, it was another biased anti Sarah piece and the people are seeing where you loser libs are coming from. Lies, untruths and just very poor jounalism. No wonder Fox News is kicking all the old dieing networks butts!

I would take Sarah's word over these guys words and Sarah confirms what they have said....she could not get Biden's name right...she had problems with history.....I don't think there is much of a disagreement between Sarah and what these guys are saying.....I think it is all in your head....and for the guy/girl that says the main stream media is always twisting stories about Sarah....I didn't hear anyone from the main stream media talking....I thought the person telling the campaign story of Sarah Palin was John Mccain's political strategist....Well I guess you are going to say he is part of the liberal media too....So I guess that is the answer to anyone who disagrees with your viewpoint.....they are all part of the liberal media...I guess that would make your life much easier if you never had to really think about anything and you could blame anything and anyone that opposes you viewpoint as the "Liberal Media"..In its own way...it is really ingenious.

There is going to be vitriol on both sides Republican or Democrat. As humans it is our nature to be passionate of our beliefs. However, you can not point fingers at CBS for being "left minded" I mean have any of you watched FOX news? I make it a point to listen to both sides and honestly the right lies much more than the left. Their current talking point that there was no domestic terrorist attacks during the Bush years? Even Guilliani said this in a recent talk show. REALLY??? So 911 didn't happen under Bush? Yes this Nigerian was able to board a plane and attempt to detonate a bomb but thank God it didn't work. So if this is a terrorist attack under Obama then I chose this over the twin tower bombings. Im not saying one party is better than the other but you must realize that although Reid said these things about Obama it seems that they were said more out of ignorance than racism and he apologized and his apology was accepted. The tea-baggers blatantly use racism against this administration and there is not outrage over that? Comparing our President Obama to Hitler is more offensive in my opinion.
Either way please inform yourselves, try to be open to both sides before you come here to the defense of a woman who really had no business being in this campaign. Perhaps later when she educates herself she may be in a position to run. Till then lets call her what she is. Unqualified.

I want to thank CBS News and especially 60 Minutes for the great publicity for Sarah Palin, keep it up, she becomes more popular every time you run something about her.
As for rsh724's comment: Remember the wise words of Santayana: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
I think maybe you should look at the current administration and how they have ignored history.

The most amusing part of this is to listen to Obama during the campaign. There was little substance, obviously canned answers since on any issue of substance the response was repetitive. Sarah is a quick study. Even these authors admit that. She learns fast and is open to learning. I so wish that the same were true of our President. He may be Ivy League educated. I wish that education had a substantial amount of executive experience and street smarts.

Sarah Palin can not hold a candle to President Obama. The man is smart, thoughtful and writes his own books. Sarah needed a ghost writer.

We all understand, the "Lame stream media" hates Palin. You people at ABC, don't tell the truth, might as well call yourselves the left wing propaganda machine. You outrage the public with your lies and smears. Get over Palin!

Steve Schmidt is not part of the "lame stream media". I believe every bit of it, and if you want to question anyone's character here, question Sarah for throwing the people who gave her all this fame under the bus in her book.

rsh724 says:
Oh my lord. Palin didn't understand WWII, the Cold War, or why there are 2 Koreas. She didn't understand that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11. She was over 40 years old!

She's clearly all style and no substance. This should not be a partisan political issue.

Maybe we should give all political candidates an SAT-like test on American history. I don't really mind if they can't spell; we have spell-checkers now. I do mind if our elected officials have no knowledge of history.

Remember the wise words of Santayana: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

In the age of tens of thousands of nuclear weapons, and devastating so-called conventional weapons, we cannot afford to repeat the awful history of the 20th century.

Why is it the so-called tea partiers scream until they're hoarse about burdening our grandchildren with debt, but burn to elect a woman who is so backward she would annihilate millions through ineptitude and ignorance?

What a joke CBS news has become! You people are supposed to be unbiased journalists? HA! This is the same book that details racist comments made by Bill Clinton and Harry Reid, yet you guys decide to rehash a 13 minute smear against Sarah Palin? The media in America is a complete joke. It's disgusting. You are nothing but pathetic hacks regurgitating democrat talking points and passing it off as news. This makes me sick!

Good point about not covering the stuff against the Clintons, but it doesn't make the stuff about Palin any less true. Steve Schmidt is a highly credible source and I believe every word.

I come from the political middle. Literally. However I find it absurd that Mr. Cooper did not even mention the Reid comments nor what I find even worse, President Clinton's comment that Obama would have been getting him coffee a few years back. These omissions are what drives people crazy because they can be nothing but intentional when you make the story focus on Palin but leave those agregious comments out. 60 Minutes has become an embarrassment to journalism.

I have some respect for Schmidt's honesty about political strategies and before elections it comes down to the competition and choosing a VP pick to win. I want to believe and due to the last minute choice of Palin, lack of vetting and not much known of her educational level nor her personality to falsify information they did the best they could to bring her up to speed. It is good that some republicans/conservative respected and credible persons had a conscience to come forward for the good of our country that Palin was unqualified. Given Palin's positive qualities it has been discussed if she would during her governorship prepare, educate herself in the meantime. It's clear her decision was to campaign everyone else is a liar while she repeats inaccurate and false information that has been fact checked and easily disproven.

Wow, I don't like Sarah Palin but I am SICK of watching 60 Minutes and CBS bash her. You must really be afraid of her. You did a 13 minute segment supposedly about a new book that came out about the campaign and it included exactly 2 minutes and 43 seconds of Clinton coverage with 1 minute of that saying how much Obama NEEDED her to be Sec. of State. If I hadn't been reading these posts I wouldn't have known that this was the same book that showed Reid's racist comments...Amazing. I'd bet that if a Republican senator commented on Obama's Non-Negro dialect it would have been mentioned in this piece. For those of you liberals out there that are afraid of Palin like I am please stop using her inexperience as an argument. She was first a mayor, then a governor, that's a lot more experience than the guy you elected as President. The only thing he ever ran besides a campaign was a college newspaper.
