Many people may say that scientists are playing God. I believe that God gave us the intelligence to be able to develop and utilize these kinds of sciences to improve and overcome the obstacles that people endure. Developing ways to help end the suffering of so many, I can't imagine a better use of the God given blessing of intelligence. Simply amazing. Well done. Keep up the truly lifesaving work you are doing!!!!
I would like any and all information regarding how to get my 20 year old on a research/patient list. He has Type 1 Diabetes and needs a new pancreas or for his to be regenerated. What an incredible blessing this could be for his life and all of us who love him dearly. Thank you,

Hi, my daughter is 21 years old and has been type 1 diabetic sense she was 4 years old, she is 8 mths pregnant with her first baby. I have also posted on here to see what they have to offer her and any one trying to survive with this horrific disease. Please, if you get any info can you please pass it on to me and I will do the same for you. What a blessing this would be. Diabetes is so hard because it takes your health one organ at a time and has no mercy on them. God Bless your son and best wishes. My email is belcourtkathy@yahoo.com thanks for any thing you can forward to me!!
Reports of two studies in past week is spooky and go together in a way. Teenagers may soon need science's ability to grow new body parts, particularly those adolescents who are addicted to the internet. This is shocking, but true. A collaborative study between Chinese and Australian scientists found that teenagers who are addicted to the internet are much more likely to physically hurt themselves than non-addicted teens -- that's self-injury by hitting themselves, burning, cutting and pulling hair out. Ethic Soup has a good post on this at:
My son was head injured when he was 18. He's now 47. His speech center was damaged and he has a terrible time trying to say something. Is there anything that might help him? He and we would be eternally grateful.
Can someone please provide the contact information so I can see if my husband can be part of the research process for new lungs. He has COPD and still has a lot of life left, he's only 58. Thank you.
This is amazing. Is there a point of contact to talk with regarding spinal cord injury/repair as it relates to EMC? My daughter was injured nearly a year ago. It would be great to get her back on her feet again.
Yes, this is the great positive potential of research, science and health care .A great use of our universities and government. Now if it could be insulated from superstitions and politicians. Hopefully it would be affordable and available to the average citizen. for people who may have had birth defects or abnormalities, accident, cancer, heart disease, etc victims. This should be part of our national campaign for peaceful beneficial development. Sources of employment ,productivity and healing. Morley, you've been in VietNam. Think we need to repair troops, just to have them recycled and mutilated again?
Two and a half years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who was born with multiple heart defects. She is doing well today after open-heart surgery in infancy, but faces more surgery, mainly valve replacements in the future. The problem is that as she grows she outgrows valves placed during surgery. A valve that is "hers" and would grow with her would prevent the need for future surgeries.
I've been following news articles about this technology with great interest since her birth. I have to say though that seeing the "beating valve" in the lab brought me to tears. What a wonderful, amazing thing.
WOW! I was just watching 60 minutes...I'm finishing up my Ph.D creating new ECM-mimicking materials in order to differentiate stem cells so they grow in a "length-wise" manner to repair damage to the spinal cord. You can debate that scientists are playing god or doing something unethical but if you are lying there, just paralyzed from the neck down in a car accident and there is a new technology that within a few weeks at a relatively low cost could take some of your own cells and make you walk again....that's pretty amazing!
