Steve Kroft again comes across as arrogant, disrespectful and snide. His attempts to mock, interrupt and misdirect our President are nothing short of appalling. Steve Kroft can only disagree by being disagreeable. Earth to Kroft. Its an honor to get this interview, not the other way around. President Obama again earns my respect as thoughtful, decent, and serious. A man of some real dignity. He has the courage to tackle all the tough and contentious no win issues that prior administrations did not or would not. I'm done with CBS.

About unemployment, Obama could have said he didn't run for office to back up employers who blow off applicants without so much as an interview because:
1. Applicants have an excellent college degree but no paid work experience in the field yet;
2. The employers don't like the applicant's name;
3. The employers won't let someone join the team in one role because he's not a jack-of-all-trades;
4. The employers think an applicant is "overqualified," too old, or too expensive.
Obama hasn't said any of these because he's a Social Darwinist and refuses to admit there's widespread job discrimination that's legal but immoral, foolish, or economically harmful. He thinks macroeconomic support of demand is enough to fight unemployment, even enough to end long-term unemployment, where such discrimination is a major cause. It's not going to work until government efforts stop treating unemployed Americans like anonymous, superfluous, interchangeable labor-widgets.

What? This didn't just start to happen under Obama. The government is run for the benefit for corporations & their profits. Bush was one of the biggest corporate lap dogs ever. As was the Right Wing God of all Gods Ronald Reagan. This will never change. Corporations dictate National Policy.

STEVE KROFT obviously, has distain, dislike for President Obama! Why he gets to interview his is sickening. When I've observed him attempting to interview Cheney, he's like a lap dog puppy, afraid to ask Cheney the TOUGH question, yet, ask Obama dumb ones.

I do NOT like STEVE KROFT, and I wish they would get rid of him, he's nothing but a RACIST!

I hate people who use the race "Card" as a ploy. Where did color, come up in the conversation? People who cry "RACE" when race is not mentioned should be sued for slander. And if someone from either side do show bias because of a persons skin color ... that is big bucks. So sue or shut up!

Journalist interviewer tactic 101: Try to get interviewee to finish reporter's sentence on a question that trailed off. It didn't work Kroft. Obama was too smart for that trick. Good job Mr. President!

We all know you got a lot on your plate. More than any other President in history. Im pretty sure you will win re-election in 2012. If after 8 years things really suck, then people can say "I told you so" but its only your first year, I will definitely cut him slack.

I hope you take on Wall St and those fatcats. They will truly ruin us all.

In regards to these posts on this site, everyones understanding of what the national debt was in year 1999 to 2000 is completely wrong. I don?t know where people get your information, probably from the Huffington Post or somewhere, but the gross national debt was approximately 5.8 trillion dollars in which was approximately 58% of the GDP, while the public national debt was approximately 4.25 trillion. The U.S. has had a public debt since its very beginning. May I suggest that before anyone speaks and spiels out propaganda that it would be a good idea do some research first. Also, congress has just recently voted on increasing the debt to over 12 trillion and this does not include health care plan. All wars cause debt, if we would have not been attacked on September 11, 2001, our debt would be little un-changed. The problem with liberals and conservatives is they vote down party lines, while people like myself are independents and we look at all the facts before we vote. People who can not think on there own should not be given a right to vote as they cannot think for themselves and need to vote down a party line. Its people that don't have a clue is what has cause the debt problem in the first place, because some are not smart enough to know what they are talking about and need someone to think for them. Because there are no checks and balances (your legislator does not answer to you because they consider the voter not smart enough to think for themselves anymore) in the system anymore, this is why we have debt. I suggest to anyone about to spiel thier propaganda that you do some research on what you are planning on talking about. Most people might just find out that you don?t have a clue of what?s going on and you might just take the time to learn more about what is factually going on.

Check your facts. Your statement that our national debt would not have increased since 2001 if there had been no 911 is totally ignorant. There was not one single spending bill that Bush did not sign during his administration. Bush signed the 300 billion dollar medical prescription bill without paying for it. Bush, drove the economy into the ground causing nearly the next depression by allowing the banks to run wild. Bush unregulated the banks and created a world wide crisis by allowing the banks to sell 100 trillion dollars in derivatives throughout the world with no monetary or property value. Bush gave huge tax breaks to the wealthy and business without reducing spending! Bush and his Wall street buddies scared us into 750 billion dollar bailouts to his bank buddies! Listen Mr. so called independent, get your facts straight before you open your mouth. If you were really an independent and knew the facts as you profess, you would really be an independent. You are a closet Republican and just too ashamed of your true party affiliation to admit your true calling. Ignorant is the best word to describe your statement.

Nice job with the interview Mr. President. From an initial non-supporter, you are earning my respect with your thoughtfulness, especially on Afghanistan. Support the troops and keep them in thoughts and prayers.

So happy to see there are people who use their own God given sense when making remarks about our president. There are too many American who choose to let the likes of the village clowns(Limbaugh,Beck,Palin)speak for them, or they are consistently using their talking points. The right wing conservatives of this country inherited a budget surplus when George W. took office. When President Obama took office, He was handed the keys to a nation with the largest budget deficit know to man kind. President Obama is using his skills and intellect, along with the most knowledgeable economist ever assembled to fix our economic problems. Instead of whining and complaining, why don't we all show a measure of support. The president visited the Far East recently as part of his plan to get the cooperation of foreign nations in hopes of creating jobs for Americans etc. The creative right wing conservatives seized the moment, and none of those characters mentioned his visit, except to say that the president bowed before the elderly Japanese leader. It seemed that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck would surely blow a fuse. I enjoyed seeing the president explain how our nation is doing, and what his plans are for dealing with the economy and the two wars he inherited.

I am not sure, but some of what the Investment Bankers call 'bonuses' may actually be sales commissions... the terms and percentages of which are in their employment contracts.

Part of their job is to sell... and by selling, an Investment Banker is bringing in money to the funds they manage. And for that, there may be contractual terms for payment/commission/bonus.

Maybe this is why they seemed to sit tight last year, and after all the huffing and puffing, some of them still got money. Because if they didn't, they could sue for breach of contract.

So in a sense, they too should have perhaps gone through a washing-machine fast-cycle of a bankruptcy as GM. If that happened, those guys couldn't sue for breach of contract if the monies were withheld. Then too the regulations for an individual company could have been changed... making it easier to subsequently change the overall Financial Regulation.

If this is not how it works, someone clarify please. Thanks.
