How can he sit there and blame the President for the GOP's unwillingness to compromise? The election was a referendum on policy, not just who was going to be in the White House. Pretty short memory over at GOP HQ. They lost not just the election, but their plan (what little of it they made public while flip flopping every other day) was also voted down.
That put the onus on the GOP to bend towards the Democrats. Not the other way around. I see the Dems wanting to compromize somewhat but honestly, they won the election and their policies, as plainly laid out during the campaign, where vetted by a majority of the population.
This simple breakdown by the GOP refusing to recognize their back seat status is at the heart of the problem. The GOP is refusing to change any of their plans. They are acting as if they won the election, their man WAS in the White House and it's the Democrats that need to bend to their will.
I don't know that they are smoking over at GOP HQ but it's got to be some pretty strong stuff.
