Republicans are desperate to cast Obama's restrained and highly effective use of military power in a bad light, since it has shined a glaring light of shame on W's ham-handed full-scale invasions.
One little problem with the yippee-skippee approach. Obama didn't cancel Bush's Patriot Act, war in the mideast, bailing out bankers, Guantanamo Bay. Some of them he even expanded. At this point, there's not enough difference in this area between Bush and Obama to matter.
It sounds like the Karl Rove propaganda machine is cranking up again.
We know the right wing dissension and lies they use to lead their followers.
We know their hatred for weman, latinos, blacks, anyone who isn't Christian, gays, and Democrats.
The first rate National Security issue is Republican ideology, itself, which produces enemies for our nation, and finances weapons to fight their enemies whether real or imagined, at any cost...even when the economics of such decisions are clearly self defeating as the reasons itself.
There is no way this country will return to the misery of the Bush-Cheney years.
Clearly the reason the GOP is pushing the attack on our embassy in Libya so much is they want to try and embarrass Hillary Clinton because she is going to beat them in 2016. The questions have been answered. Mistakes have been admitted, which were not directly made by Clinton. Where were these guys when WE were purposely doing wrong with water boarding and other anti-international law efforts under President Bush and the worst human being to hold office in our life time, Dick Cheney.
Let me guess - Obama tore down the patriot act and every other provision the second he got into office... I'm sure the usual suspects will pin everything on him, without any rhyme or reason, much less a single iota of evidence.
Total insanity. We have never been spied on so much in all our history. Our emails are potentially monitored by the government. If we post online we're potentially spied on by both employers and government. Satellites were apparently not detailed enough to make the government happy so now we're going to have drones that monitor us whenever we go outside? Rules that used to allow us some privacy have been negated or ignored. What's next?
What next? I bet all the rightwingers will do their patriotic part, moon the drones, and go stomping down Capital Hill... oops, Capitol Hill... oh, wait, the monetary term seems oddly more applicable... but I digress. The lameyfakeys will stomp down the streets protesting these anti-constitutional things, but will then stomp in support of them the moment someone in the GOP is elected...
Maybe the reason for the threats we have now...the immigration problem we have now...the budget problems we have now. We are too busy reading the neighbors email and calling in the CCTV from the satellite or drones to see who is home. I guess next year after Christmas instead of using my Christmas lights to cheer for my team in the ncc game ... I can write messages on my front yard to the drones and their red dust trails telling them to go to ****. I think we should be under the impression that what we do could be monitored in the event something presents a reason. Put it under duel control like bank personnel. It takes two to open a vault at the bank...one has a upper combo...one has a lower combo and both sign the register to access...same thing with checks over certain amount...It makes accountability an understood action and makes deception almost impossible. It does happen, but if all that fails they do have cameras that monitor an area where they know full well the risk. No one knows what the standard of just cause is or the procedures for obtaining permission and who and what level is authorized to do it and approve it. We just hear they do it. In my mind it reminds me or makes me think that all these little people sitting in their offices viewing who ever and our lives is a mere reality TV show that we don't win anything or receive monies for the entertainment we provide to them on a daily basis... I know if for some reason I am being viewed...they really have nothing to do to spend their time watching anything i do. I am my biggest threat just moving around and about in my daily life.

There ARE differences between both Presidents' styles, but there are similarities as well. It's just a matter of compromise.
