For all of you bashing Beyonce, you might find it informative that the Marine band was "lip synching" as well. As I understand it the primary reason was they (Beyonce and the Marines) were unable to rehears before hand. So if you insist on bashing Beyonce, then bash the Marines as well.
Incidentally, lip synching or not she did an excellent job on a difficult song. I love that anthem and she did it very well - not many singers do.
From a technical standpoint lip-syncing makes sense. Besides it is actually her voice and her ability playing. she should tell what Pavarotti told people when he got grief for lip-syncing while he had a sore throat: "I don't give a DAMN about this". geez give it up. It ain't the end of the world. Beyonce is a great talent.
Wow, where's all this hate coming from? It sounds like I'm sitting at a middle school lunchroom table with all the bullies and wanna-be-somethings trying to tear down anyone who isn't like they are. She's beautiful, talented and classy. AND successful as hell. And obviously you watch her or you wouldn't have a clue how she moves. Ahh, now it makes sense.
At least in terms of not feeling confident. His opinions on Obama are a bit tangential, but she would have been better off singing it life and fumbling. We know it's not an easy job, but this isn't pop music where any fluff can be electronically enhanced or lipsynced for cheap money. That was a REAL event and all she did was take the cheap route. She's as much real as her face is, once the 20 pounds of make-up is removed.
And the "successful" argument is typically thrust out by GOP (and other corporatist) operatives as a class warfare tactic, especially while they offshore jobs and other unethical means and prevent their fellow countrymen from being successful via ethical means...
Actually, this wasn't so bad and without noteworthy "inventions" that "personalities" like Alicia Keyes and small fry small town "performers" think they are authorized to make up. This is a great national anthem. I hope more singers will Adhere to the Music and Lyrics. There should be no applauding the singer. Actually, the singers should lead Everybody in the singing of Our national anthem.
For the life of me I can't figure out why this is such a big deal. Everyone knows Beyonce can sing and she did an outstanding job performing at the Presidential inaugeration. I'm sure she will also provide a wonderful performance at the Superbowl too. People need to lighten up and stop looking for excuses to degrade this woman's talent and success.
Beyonce's talent or lack thereof when it's called upon for performances that cannot be controlled is the sole issue. That has no relation to Obama, regardless if one likes or dislikes him and for whatever reasons therein.
She faked it for an event of high importance. There is NO justification for that.
Her being successful is also irrelevant. As with the President, her past success is not relevant.
Her being cheap on a high profile event is all that matters.
Anything else is inference or conjecture.
As I've said above, she's a fake and a flake in this regard. Because she chose to hide it rather than take a risk and have to recover from a fumble. THAT is why most people are upset, and most people are more likely to forgive if a person innocently fumbles. She faked it, deliberately, she gets zero sympathy or support from me. Her past, her affiliations, and everything else are not relevant.
They were when they sung the song after it was first made, too.
People making honest mistakes vs people deliberately trying to hide something for the sake of profit... She may as well go work for Wall Street for all I could care.
You don't even know what the word "socialist" means, and if you did you'd blush in embarrassment and quickly start using the real term, which is "corporatism" (if not "communism").

But nobody lipsynced almost 200 years ago and they sung it, so why do people think it's okay to lipsync to it now?
It is a mere pop song?

Lots of people are nervous.
