The Republicans cannot change, they really cannot. We just had the "Right to Life" march in DC - AGAIN. All these people dragging their kids out in the frightful cold during flu season, trying to prove - WHAT ? Abortion is legal in the U.S. but the Republicans still try and try to outlaw it in the states and nationally. The Majority does not WANT that. But they just cannot change, they can't, they are too absolute about it, they call the other side murderers. They can't face the reality that Pro-Choice people love babies, too, but they want women to have their reproductive freedom. We are not blood-drenched killers, but that is how you view us, so we oppose your insanity at every juncture. And that is just one issue. We oppose your religious extremism, your racial extremism, your financial extremism, your military extremism, it just goes on and on. Keep it up, Republicans. We know any change you DO make will be incidental and illusory for immediate political gain.

KansasCity-2012 says:
If the GOP dropped abortion and adopted a legal view that legislatures can not pass a law that specifically victimizes a gender for a specific behavior, then they would escape many constraints which afflict their arcane and self-defeating social ideologies.

Christian Evangelicals are the Talibans of America....and must be disempowered at any cost.

Absolutely the republicans have to swing their focus from being involved with other people's morality and focus instead on fiscal responsibility.

By the way Repubs used to be more moderate. They have pretty much been wiped out by the tea party element.

AttyFAM says:
I listened to this inane conversation. The Republicans totally ignored the comments of the interviewer about a mentally ill person walking into the Newtown school with a baseball bat, because it is obvious (1) he probably could not get into the school (he had to blast the door down with the gun, and (2) you just cannot commit mass murder with a baseball bat.

The weapon is the critical point for intervention by the law.

More murders were committed last year by hammers and blunt instruments than rifles (FBI statistics not mine)..If you really think that these insane killers will stop killing if semi-auto rifles are banned you are sadly mistaken. They will find a new tool. Maybe treat the cause not the symptom?

Oh, and if you really want to stop the needless slaughter of innocents, how about the over 1 million children murdered by abortions last year?

Why does the GOP think that there is only aspect to the problem? The problem is BOTH mental illness and assault weapons. That's been obvious right from the start and addressing just mental illness will not solve the situation.

What is increasingly obvious is that the GOP's idea of change apparently is a change of PR companies. They clearly intend to keep the failed policies of tax cuts and shredding the safety net while maintaining the hyper-inflated military spending. Their idea of change is no change.

More cowardly partisan comments that have become drunk drinking the kool-aid (probably red). The problem is winning seats to control their own policies just like the Democrats. Because you disagree with one side, you continue to expound trash and vomit, without fulling realizing both sides are excrement. Sad and pathetic.
