wd4ity says:
Tygart is lying. Lance Armstrong was doing the same thing the other top riders were doing. Maybe it was wrong but in order to be competitive, he had to do it. The reason none of the others were brought before the board is that they are European riders. The Europeans have always thought that cycling was "their sport" and they don't want Americans to dominate. They couldn't out ride him so they did this. The anti-doping cornered Armstrong's teammate and threatened him with banishment from the sport if he didn't rat out Armstrong. That's the way it is in international cycling.

wd4ity. I think you are missing the point. The fact that the other top riders were doing it as you say, and assuming is true, does not make his wrong right. Using your logic, if everybody else is stealing murdering or whatever, then is ok for me to do it too. It is an attitude of not taking responsibility. So, I guess when in Rome do as in Rome. If I go to places where adulterers are stoned, then is ok for me to do it too. why not ? everybody else is doing it.

Armstrong still had a choice. He could have abandoned the sport entirely and took up some other occupation.
