With these two issue above the economy and world peace, he may be nominated miss America. But after the arab spring and stimulus could we hope for anything different from our president.
I just heard on the radio about a new book that says the TARP, stimulus, and bank stress testing will go down in history as appropriate actions to save the economy.
The Arab spring had its own energy without help from any outsider.
The illegal alien problem is not single dimensional, there are the illegals, there are the businesses that hire the illegals and, then, you have the government whose responsibility is the protection of its citizens.
The illegals have been swarming into the United States, essentially unabated, for a number of years. They did so before Ronald Reagan was president and, because of his actions in support of amnesty, the numbers of illegals only increased. Therefor, amnesty or any facsimile is not the answer, two wrongs don't make a right. The illegals do take jobs that Americans would take if given the opportunity. Anyone who has ever been out of work for an extended period would tell you that they would take any job as long as it paid, at least, minimum wage.
Businesses that hire illegals are directly responsible, together with the government's failure to enforce the law of the land, for the influx of illegal aliens. If the immigration law was enforced as it should be, these businesses would be punished, but, because they're not, they are rewarded by keeping there labor costs low.
A government, or elected officials in our government, that refuse to enforce the law of the land which includes our immigration law, ought to be impeached for failure to do their sworn duty. Now we know that doing so, because politicians apparently would rather do right by their party than do right for their country, is nigh on impossible especially since we didn't impeach the last president. Nonetheless, given enough rope this president will become more tyrannical and, much to his surprise, he will be impeached.
To sum up, should illegals be deported? Yes
Should businesses that hire illegal receive severe penalties up to and including confiscation of their assets? Yes
Should government officials that aid and abet the criminal activity of illegal entrance into the United States be impeached? Yes
I think Obama is using his heart and not his head when approaching the issue of amnesty for 11 million illegal immigrants. He has of course no right to do this. He was elected to protect the LEGAL citizens of this country not twist or ignore the laws of the country to give ILLEGAL immigrants legal citizenship. If he does this it will release a tidal wave of further ILLEGALS crossing our borders and our country will become third world as they will ruin our economy and destroy our standard of living.
He is either too ignorant to realize that he is destroying our country, or that has been his plan from the beginning. I can't figure out which one it is.
An global warming/climate change fiasco? Al Gore has personally made billions from the ignorance of the sheep following him. He doesn't even believe what he preaches, evident in his lifestyle, not to mention the sale of his Current TV. He laughs all the way to the banks overseas.
I would like to see him get our homeless off the street before concentrating on illegals. This country has more concerns about foreigners than America's own. Billions going overseas while we have people living in cardboard cartons, cold and hungry.
The natural cycle of the planet will be used for further taxation and control purposes. We would be better off learning to adapt to the changes the same as nature has done for countless eons.
Obama will try to push for amnesty for illegal invaders instead of sending them home where they belong. All one has to do is turn off the magnet of jobs and handouts. They will have no choice but to leave. Naturally they will be welcome back when legal. We'll see whether Obama sides with the Citizens he is tasked to protect, or the illegal invaders who refuse to leave.
You are uninformed or mislead. Climate change has busted loose from any natural cycle and stands on its own.
There is no conspiracy to control anyone. Change has to come to save our way of life. Germany is already a leader in converting its energy from fossil and nuclear energy to renewable energies. Even though China is a big polluter and continues to build coal-burning power plants, it too is making huge strides in creating renewable resources and technology to sell to the world.
The government has just released a draft of a National Climate Assessment. It is easy to read and information is easy to find. And it is scary! I don't understand why Congress can't move forward on this issue.
Just remember that the scientists who disagreed with Al Gore were fired, so that it looked like they all agreed that man causes global warming, er, climate change.
Nutty: You are nutty. Until Obama was elected, government scientists' work was "blacked out" and skewed. The people have been mislead and subjected to lies from politicians.
The CEO of Morgan Stanley was asked at the Davos conference what worried leaders around the world? Her reply was climate change.
It is time to act because the consequences are huge. The economies and the stability of governments of the world are at risk if we don't.
