This has become stupid. Just make cuts where you can but leave the vunerable people alone. I am sure there are hundreds of places where cuts can be made without damageing our society. We don't need the NASA program anymore. If everyone tightens their personal belts we can acheive this. Everyone should take a good close look at themselves and figure what is ans is not needed!
This is the reason there is never any progress. There is always an opposition to certain areas. That is why a stanard reduction in spending in all areas is the only real way spending will be reduced equally. Social Security is always being criticized by some as a program that needs drastic reductions in expenses. The gov owes the Social Security fund over 3 trillion dollars they took from it over the years. If that money was left to pay social security the fund would be solvent for over 100 years. That being said what about the government pension sytem that pays out an equal amount as social security and has no funding source. The pension system in a few years will have similar financial issues as social security. I think our military and other gov departments deserve the pension benefits they will receive. However, this is an example of how some want Social Security and other areas to receive the burden of cost reductions that shgould be shared equally.
