Did anyone look into the possible church relationship with the investigating police officer. Here is an elder of the Jehovah witness church giving marital advice and in turn having an affair with the counseled couples wife. Whose to say the investigating officers weren't elders of that same church protecting the men with their sloppy investigative work. Not at all surprising for that particular religious group, ie elders protecting men.
She killed herself because of an emotional breakdown. She has to have some kind of problems if she sleeps in closets..... stealing, forging..etc... I don't think her mother knew her very well as an adult.
I think Ronda killed her own. But I think she tried people think she was killed by someone else. Someone is Ron or Jonathan. Trap them to let them go to hell with her. I think she did this for revenge.
This case reminds me of Matt Baker's murder of his wife Kari. In both cases, the husbands convinced the first responders that the wife committed suicide; in both cases, law officials did a poor job of collecting/photographing or maintaining evidence. In both cses, the deaths were originally ruled a "suicide," and it wasn't until the investigations of family members that the deaths were rightfully ruled as murder. Barbara Thompson should take a look at the 48 Hours episodes, "The Preacher's Wife" and "Dirty Little Secrets."
Mrs. Thompson: please contact Linda Dulin, Kari Baker's mom. After almost ten years, Mrs. Dulin was able to get justice for her daughter. Learn from Mrs. Dulin, Mrs. Thompson!
Ron Reynolds' FOURTH wife (four, that's a high number of marriages for a supposedly religious man; this should give any normal person some cause for concern) should be very worried. Do not take out any life insurance policies, Mrs. Reynolds.
This episode should be entitled "White Trash in Washington"
Barb ** mother at 19 ** single mother three years later ** Do we expect anything else from Barb besides "My daughter would never do such a thing"?
Ronda ** Forced to resign from the police department for fraudulently double dipping ** Forged credit card applications in her second husband's name ** Ran up $25,000 debt on second husband's credit cards (well, women usually marry for money the second time....)
Ron ** a marriage counselor who plays around with a client--that's bad ** a CHURCH marriage counselor who plays around with a client--that's evil ** a marriage counselor who is now on his 4th marriage
Jonathan ** in this episode, the first photo of the Reynolds brothers...several of the brothers, including Jonathan, look like trouble ** 17 years old and sneaks peeks at Ronda in the shower ** crystal meth user
An unfortunate case, but some how you made it funny. One more thing... EXPERTS! how can you be an expert on something you've never tried. The fire arms guy would have to shoot himself in order to testify on which way the gun would project. Freakier things have happened.
Ron's Wife Number Whatever ** Doesn't get custody of the boys following the divorce ** Boinks with Ron one day after Ronda's dead body is found in the same house
First, why are we showing repeats? Next week is a repeat too. This isn't summer. But I suppose it's due to the holidays.
As for the case, I would like to make several comments.
It seems strange the father would look down at the gun and say he thinks it's 32 caliber, or something like that. It just seems suspicous to me. Surely he must know, and certainly by now, what the caliber of the gun is!
The issue of suicide is complex. But I always find it strange when people say s/he wouldn't commit sucide. Unfortunately only a small number of sucide threats are explicit and ironically those are precisely the ones that do not succeed; they are more attempts to elicit attention and/or sympathy. But really suicidal people (Hemingway) pretend otherwise: they're okay, etc. because they want to really succeed in killing themselves.
Hemingway may not be the perfect example because he clearly tried to kill himself in the past, or at least was depressed enough to receive electro-shock treatments. But I think most psychologists would agree that a large number of suicides are not broadcast and the person gave no indication of intent before the act. Often there's almost a cheer knowing that that will be their final day of suffering.
Though it's good the guilty are broght to justice, or at least exposed (if this is indeed the case here) for those who do believe in the presumption of innocence and due process, I just think it's wrong that these cases are being in effect tried by a mystery writer or a suspicious mother, especially after all these years and with no evidence.
Frankly I don't think the woman would have made up the story about the boy and shower, eerily, almost comically, similar to PSYCHO, apart from the knife. Why would she concoct a story like that? What's her motive? And why multiply the instances?
As others here have opined, this is a very inconclusive case. The one thing we know for certain is it's a repeat of a previous broadcast. :)
In sum, it does seem wrong to 1. reopen the case in an inquisitory form (inquest) but then 2. (and they must have known this) dismiss the case at the prosecutorial level. That means essentially that the two accused will never be allowed to exonerate themselves as long as they live! True, if they're guilty, they're happy about this. But if they're innocent, one can see that this is an injustice. And who is to say?
As a Psychtherapist who majored in criminal psychology this case is a very tough case to come away with a real conclusionary finding. (1). Why would the Reynolds son kill Ronda knowing she was going to leave in the morning unless he had become drug fueled and needed some revenge against her? (2). Why would Ronda kill herself knowing she was getting out of a house where one son definitely did not like her and the father/husband was still seeing his ex-wife? Thus, aside from the trajectory of the gun wound which is an important factor, to get a conviction on either of the Reynolds would require a weak circumstanial case. Although, if I had to choose between one of the 2 possibilities I would think that it was a drug fueled impulsive killing. Sloppy police work doomed this case from the very beginning.
hmmm there are a couple of instances where I think father and son lied .. my personal feeling is that the father knows that the son killed her and they are protecting each other. I definitely think it was murder but how can it be proven. I just hope that Ronda's mother now has some peace in small part.
I after watching the Reynolds people... reactions of Ron Reynolds (or rather the lack of it after Rhonda's death), watching his facial expressions & body posture of Ron Reynolds and then the gun placement; he did the murder or covered for his son. There is an old adage of, me-thinks you do protest too much, Mr. Reynolds. The investigation was shoddy (got rid of the evidence, really... very foolish & stupid), and the prosecutor appeared to be sloppy & foolish, and both rather than wanting to solve a crime to do the Right Thing - just wanted it all to disappear. Makes me happy not to have lived in that area of WA State. My sincere sympathy to Rhonda's mother, Mrs. Thompson.

It's true these days. Guilty until proven innocent in some cases.
