I think I can understand the he needed to develop into this something of a special man to take on the kind of thick skin that he needed inorder to be the operations commander of seals. Had he not developed this skin, he would not have been able to command those troups, face their risks, and be psychologically strong enough to survive their losses.
Here is the perfect example of what many military wives and family members endure and suffer but only the men get the medals. Truly, they are indeed the "wind beneath their wings" and pay the costs on so many fronts. Yet, often, and all too often, both the military men and their families are not given the respect and honor they are due.
Wake up America! When are we going to realize that war CHANGES both those who go through it and their families. We need to support our vets and their families more. We need to help them recover from whatever they have been through.
