Why should there be ANY outrage? This guy was installing prohibited equipment where he should not have been.

This guy is a man from Jewish decent in CUBA working for the State Dept. Right, Maybe we should release all American non violent offenders from our prisons! This guy should have been smart enough to not go playing around in CUBA for Gods sakes! He is a spy, what did he expect to happen! Cry me a river! Cuba is a poor Communist country, leave them alone and you will not end up in there prison!
If he were a spy it would be easy , as the two sides would trade guys , but this guy was a contractor that reached further than he should have with the internet rules , or at least this is my understanding .
Now whatever it is , this guy is not an interest to any in the Gov , as this is why the guys wife is on her own , so the mercy of one can bring the eyes of many world wide to view the wisdom of mercy .
Cuba released men last year in a good will mission that I recall seeing on the news , so considering this mans age and health , I would and could only ask for mercy ,
Mercy is requested , never demanded , Show mercy founded in wisdom , release this soul to the church in the name of outreach , and the many of the world will see the hand of conversation gripping production to a place of success in the interest of all .
We never recall court justice , but we all recall the actions of good will and mercy , such as last year .
