- Watching this exchange of ideas leaves me still wondering if Washingto DC truely understands the meaning of compromise. That word has been tossed about all through the campaign and now that we should see compromise put to good use it is no where to be found. Is this just one more thing that does not apply to government. Compromise...to settle by mutual concesstions. Where is the mutual and where is the concessions. Compromise to a politician is when he reaches across the aisle and drags you to his side kicking and screaming. The real kicker is in the end, you find it did not have anything to do with the welfare of the public. Scoring points..paybacks..revenge..power..win out everytime
