Actually the Puritans were celebrating "Sukkot" also known as Feast of Booths or Feast of Tabernacles which is one of G-d's appointed times. The day of Sukkot is the 15th of Tishrei. Sukkot is also the day the spirit of G-d became flesh in the form of Yeshua (Jesus) in the year 3756. It is interesting that today the Pope declared that there was an error in calculating the birth of Yeshua since the Romans took pagan celebrations and gave them Christian meaning. The Bible is a Jewish book and if you do not understand the Jewishness of the Bible you will not see everything G-d is saying to you. Luke 1 will show you the day Yeshua was born if you understand the Jewishness of the events taking place.
