I have 2 sons and 4 daughters they are all proficient with weapons and carry them in their vehicles. Although they have never had to use them knowing they have at least that advantage makes them more aware of their surroundings.
I think the murders have to do with opportunity, and a hatred toward women in general. Also, regarding aboriginal descent, I believe whether a woman is status or non-status may be relevant as well as modern women not wanting to be tied down to one man, so if there are children and jealousy involved this may be a factor. There seems to be a growing trend where the men target the women with drugs, and the person with primary residency, for the child/children gets the money from the government for universal and child tax credits...
It would seem that it would be beneficial to put up some surveillence cams in strategically placed areas. It might be costly but if serial murderers knew the place was being watched, they'd be less inclined to dump bodies there. I don't know how it could be done but if it could it would be worth it. Also, killers could be caught sooner as they'd be on "candid camera". Just a thought.....
Those Americans who have seen the trailer above and will watch this show tomorrow night must keep these facts clear in their mind.
The trailer mas some misleading facts.
1)Hwy 16 is not part of the Trans-Canada Highway. The Yellowhead Highway starts in Manitoba only http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowhead_Highway. Tete Jaune Cache is where it start in BC. Tete Jaune means - Yellow head in French.
2)The RCMP officers in this Documentary are based out of their Prince George detachment.
3) The majority of Bobby Fowler's victims shown here were First Nations aboriginals.
You should NOT have named the suspect because many people have not known of this case. Besides, this individual could not be linked to all of the murders, only a few of them.
90% of the Canadian population live within 100 miles of the Can/US border. We share a lot of your culture. This story takes place about 500 miles north of Vancouver BC. Yes, there are human predators everywhere. They prey on the most vulnerable in all societies. First Nations women in Canada are at the highest risk to fall victim to such criminals.
