I agree with most of the comments here. If these people are truly representative of the Republican Party as a whole (which I don't think they are) , then the Republican Party more clueless than I thought. The Republican Party has latched on too much with the ultra conseratives and its dragging the whole party down. And that question about decreasing freedom! How loaded a question was that. So what are these people afraid of? Maybe that people might actually have opinions other than theirs. If anyone is a threat to decreasing our freedoms, its people like them.
If Frank Luntz was involved in this, then you can bet your last dollar the people were NOT randomly selected., and this roup was assembled for a specific putpose. And that purpose appears to be related to Luntz's job within the GOP ... which is to use as much obfuscation as is humanly possible to continue scaring a group of aging, White Americans into a frenzy so that they will be willing to continue to buy Gold certificates, stockpiles of "dooms day" canned goods, and more guns than they can afford. And it's working, because these folks are freaked completely out! It is a human tragedy unfolding before our eyes. And scam artists like Luntz and his mega wealthy backers are a disgrace to mankind.
I have to say after watching this segment, no wonder this country is such a mess. People crying over Romney losing? People, his own state, that he kept touting as look at what I did here, overwhelmingly went with Obama. Does that not mean anything? One woman said we are going in the wrong direction, really? The numbers do not agree with that assertion. She went on to say with Romneys success in business? You can start our with a million dollars and lose 1 million and still be successful. Romney was rich to begin with. I normally vote Republican, but not this time, the choice was very clear and these 20 folks need to wake up and come into the real world.
I live in Massachusetts and the only reason Romney ran for governor was as a stepping stone to the Presidency. Of course he didn't win here, we already had 4 year of him. Oh...and as for socialism and Obamacare. Romney passed a health care reform bill when he was governor of Massachusetts. Its almost identical to the federal "Obamacare" and was used as a model for what would be "Obamacare". Romney was so proud of this accomplishment at the time. So who the socialist now?
They question should be, "How many of you listen to Rush Limbaugh?" They folks are in fear and terror of the president of the United States? Rush is jerking their chains with his lies and deceit. Calling Obama a socialist? Stating that the republican party needs to clarify its values - when really meaning continue forcing its religious dogma on folks. I am a Christian myself and these kinds of folks cause me a great deal of embarrassment. Obama is more like Christ than any president we've ever had.

I concur completely with the first 2 comments. I might add these people seem to have a serious disconnect with the realities of why the GOP lost. Apparently they don't realize that hatred of minorities, disrespect of women, and a willingness to destroy our beautiful land for coal, gas and oil are a huge turn-off to many of us. This is still a wealthy country and it benefits all to use that wealth for the greater good, such as providing basic health care for everyone. Though I am a 65 year old white woman I thankfully do not go along with the sad selfish ideologies of this group. I thank God Obama won and I truly believe we can go forward to a brighter, healthier and kinder future.
In a related vein to Dankuc's comment, someone should have asked these Republicans who wrongly think Obama to be a "socialist" what they think socialism is and what "socialistic" policies the President has recommended. If he were a true socialist (and he isn't), the auto rescue would have included permanent federal ownership of GM and Chrysler (it didn't). The health care reform would have included a federal takeover of all hospitals, nursing homes, and drug manufacturers (it didn't). The bank rescue would have been modified to have the federal government assuming permanent ownership of the rescued financial institutions. It wasn't.
When is any reporter going to ask people such as the ones in this group what exactly do they fear about the loss of their freedom which they speak of with such passion. Under President Obama in 3 1/2 years gun possession was liberalized; more illegal immigrants were rounded up and deported than under 8 years of the Bush administration; President Obama took seriously the Alqueda threat and killed bin Laden and more Alqueda leaders than Bush did in 8 years; and...Well I could go on and on but am amazed at reporters allowing people to say such as what was said in this morning's report without asking "WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU SO AFRAID THE PRESIDENT IS/WAS/WILL DO DECREASE YOUR FREEDOM?".
Exactly what I was thinking. This was a terrible survey and not even factual. The government does not pay for abortions, how ofter do we have to listen to Frank Luntz's lies? Where's the real Charlie Rose on an occasion like this?
