Repubs will never tolerate a Democratic HW, as they didn't Clinton's. They'd take the nation over the cliff along with their anti-Obama vendetta.

I am sorry Mitch McConnell makes me sick. Even when Democrats start supporting bills and programs that the Republicans were for, the Republicans vote against it. They don't want anything to be accomplished during with a Democratic President. Afraid that he might get the credit. So they vote no to everything! Just to try and make their primary goal of making Obama a one term president come true. Well, just a few more days and we will know. I wonder want his second term goal is going to be?

Dear 60 minutes,
It is clear that Washington is broken. We the average voter need someone to help our intervention. It is plain that voting alone will not repair the system. We voters do not have enough information to make proper decisions. There are so many coverups and half-truths that we cannot see the forest for the trees. Also, waiting until 3 days before election does not help us either. We need a website (I am suggesting 60 minutes start one) that becomes public knowledge as the center point to find information. This site needs public input capabilities to help determine what information is neededby the public. We need to know how all parts of government are voting, not behind "closed" doors, but wide open doors that we all can see. We also need a common agency or department that maintains the facts and figures that all parties must use. This using 3rd party studies, polls, facts and figures just leaves us all wondering what is correct. Arguing on TV about who is lying is just ____ us off. If everyone had to use data from a government agency,a common source, we the voter could verify the numbers for ourselves, well ahead of voting time. A web voting capability that verified voters, would produce many more votes. It has to be very secure because as we know the politicians would be trying to fix the voting system to their advantage. Your news reporting is one of the few that could pull all of this together. If you just started some of these ideas, I am sure people would even help fund such a new concept, I know I would. Our country has tried for many years to repair the system by voting and replacing seats. This obviously is not going to work, it is just getting worse. Yes, if we could fire everyone at once maybe, but that is not going to happen unless we have help finding out who is responsible for what is happening, or is not happening. America needs your help and your support. Please help us, help ourselves.

I will gladly help anyway I can.

Have you looked at factcheck.org? They're pretty even handed in their criticism of both parties.

Steve,
First thank you for your reporting. I was impressed when you did the report a while back on how members of Congress and the Senate were unfairly allowed to benefit from INSIDER INFORMATION and could make big bucks via this knowledge. And, soon after a bill was passed to stop this, or so I thought ! Now I understand there are still LOOP HOLES that they can still get around this. Why not do another update on this please ! The real reason I wanted to email you today however is.. I recently saw a chain email that Warren Buffett could solve EVERYTHING IN FIVE MINTUES! and I LOVED IT, these guys again DO NOT PLAY by the same rules the average guy and gals have to, so why not do a story based on that email and GET ALL US AVERAGE AMERICANS MAD AS HELL AGAIN and PUSH THAT SOMETHING LIKE THESE SUGGESTS GET PUT INTO PLACE, so we can get AMERICA FIXED ONCE AGAIN !
thanks, Brad & Ann James

The Congress is broken, not because they don't know how to overcome gridlock, but because they refuse to do it. Personally, McConnell makes me sick.

Partisan gridlock may have begun with Obama beginning his presidency when Republicans were shut out of legislative proceedings regarding what we now refer to as Obamacare.

If one wants to speak about partisan politics, let me remind you that the 2000 Presidential election was stolen by an incomplete count in Florida tantamount to eleciton fraud followed by bush's cousin newscaster announcing prematurely that bush erroneously won the Florida electoral college which was absolutely incorrect. THEN scolea and the other RRR supremes selected a president . THEN in 2004, ohio committed election fraud.

I'm giving this one a pass. I'm too angry to listen to their mealymouthed self-serving excuses.

The fact is that retired people are barely making it now. Medicaid takes care of the bare minimum. I've been listening to how upset and confused my mother has been getting every time she has to renew and make a decision on the Medicare D-drug provision. Cutting any further will be a disaster for them.

No one in D.C. I repeat. No one in D.C. is acknowledging the fact that even if people live longer their body and/or mind is not capable of working longer. I have lost all respect for our congressmen and congresswomen.

a day has gone by and you have not responded to my challenge

you state that it "took" two republicans to get the interview with the man caught for the Libyan attack. do you have proof of that claim or even evidence that Shelby and graham made the interviews happen?... or in their capacity, as members of special committees did they have access to privileged information that an interview of a suspect was going to take place? ...and then choose to disclose this for what eve reasons they may have!

for example senator graham sits on both the armed services committee and the homeland security committee

its interesting that the FBI , which has been tasked with conducting the interrogation is maintaining secrecy as is the state department. maybe it isnt in the countries best interest to disclose all this information, but politically, for some it has advantages to disclose.

id like to see your evidence that senators Graham and Shelby were the people who made this happen..yes i know they wrote letters to tunisia. buy that doesnt prove that they made the interrogation happen. doesnt the constitution accord the responsibility to the president to make and execute foreign policy? and i doubt tunisia is going to do...or not do anything like this without discussions and agreement with the president of the united states and or the state department.

i look forward to your response
best wishes to you

You are one true idiot who does not realize how lucky you are to live in this country that has all the freedom and liberty that the ones that do live under dictatorship desire. You need to spend a year under a true dictator and you would come back to this country begging for forgiveness. Think of what you do have before speak like a fool.
