Biden, like a clown, now laughing, now gesticulating, clumsily interrupted Ryan's speech. Whenever Ryan's speech was interrupted, the flow of thought was broken, and Ryan could not give the punch to smother Biden. Biden's mannerism and behavior appeared nauseating and despicable to millions of viewers. What is more, Raddatz,s role as Moderator was loathsome. Instead of remaining impartial, she openly sided Biden, allowing him to interrupt Ryan, and finally she herself interrupted by not allowing Ryan to emphasise some vital points. In spite of these obstacles, Ryan remained cool and became the winner in the debate.
I saw the same debate. Apparently, other people thought that Biden did just what the President needed. Biden behaved like a spoiled child and had a grin just like the "Joker" in a bad Batman movie. The moderator started well, but went downhill to a poor performance. There are people who say that she is a great reporter, but her job was not to report or interrupt, her job was to be a moderator and in that job she failed.
I thought the debate itself was a draw, they both got in their points but what was very disgusting and very un vice Presidential was the constant laughing, smirking and interuptions by Biden. That part was very digusting.
Unfortunately, after a few days, nobody will remember what Biden said....but everyone will remember his bad, disrespectful behavior during the debate. Just like the soarring scream that Dean did, that sorring scream turned people off. That is exactly what Biden has accomplished. President Obama would have been better not to saying anything about how great Biden did because it reflects as having low expectations for Biden.
Much has been written about Biden's smirks and interruptions. I watched the debate alone and I was doing the same thing. I could not believe some of the bull that Ryan was hashing. One of the TV Channels stated Ryan proved he was ready to be president because of his excellent grasp of foreign affairs. I could have answered all of the questions and I hardly consider my self qualified to become VP or President. Further, virtually all the questions were directed towards the Middle East. Ryan's saber rattling comments were dangerous and ill-informed. To suggest that Obama is not a strong supporter of Israel is just plain lying. Ryan also lied about the President taking $719 billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare. He has those same figures, which are actually savings, in his budget. He made a lot more goofs than the media are currently publishing and clearly shows he is not ready for the second or first highest office in the world. He is good at memorizing figures, even though many of them are in error.
what Ryan said about Israel and $719 is correct. They are not savings. Biden did a disservice to President Obama by conducting him like a buffoon. Biden looked like the "joker" in the cartoons,smirking and laughing -- so wrong. Whatever he might have wanted to say was diminished by his behavior. No excuses!
Biden told a black audience that Republicans "want to put y'all back in chains" in order to intentionally stir racial hatred. Mitt's comment on the other hand, was an acknowledgement that with so many Americans not paying income taxes(47%), his message of lower income taxes wouldn't resonate. Nothing "dishonest" about that observation in the least. Mitt was right.. Obama has been trying to expand the number of takers at the expense of those who are paying the bills

I very much disagree with your, cbs evaluation of the debate. I think Joe's grin and laugh and interruptions directly in the tv camera were annoying and weird, it turned me off. I am a women and undecided independent voter and am considering Romney vote more and more. I think Ryan won the debate and came across much better than your take on the debate

Biden seemed a lot more genuine than Romney did in the first debate. He had a forced, frozen smile every time Obama was speaking.
