Anyone that has been convicted of arsen and revenge by arsen should be in jail. This could have been prevented.

I don't care how scared they were, prosecuting and arresting him was their JOB...we trust in our police officers to be brave and protect us no matter what.

Also, there should be NO statute of limitations on murder or attempted murder, ever.

What a handsome and beautiful family. I wish the father had gone back to shoot that guy and do everybody a favor. If he had some blackmail or extortion, and cannot be convicted of anything, someone should have just taken him out. So he has dementia. He didn't get that because what goes around comes around. A lot of people get it. Him being taken out should be what he deserved.

I'm shocked that there is a statute of limitations on the attempted murder of a police officer. Several of my family members are in the police services and I know for a fact, this sort of thing wouldn't have happened in Canada. The wounded officer, his family and his home would have been protected. There wouldn't be an officer on the force that would have a good night's sleep until the perpetrator was caught. AND Officer Busby would have received a generous pension, had he felt he could not return to the force after his recovery. What a shame that there is so little regard for the life of a policeman in that particular area.

I don't think Officer Busby had the choice to go back to work on the police force. His jaw was shot off and reconstructive surgery takes allot of time. Every time they take a step in reconstructing his face they have to wait until the tissues they operated on have fully healed before operating again. Also all of the reconstruction is purely experimental and I'm sure there are allot of complications involved.

Its sad that he killed a 17 yr old boy and possibly another boy, possibly killed his 1st wife...got away with them. That town seems to have had so many secrets and got away with a lot of things. Its funny how people don't want to tell the whole story/tell the whole truth. They don't want to explain the parts that may make them look bad.

The police force must assume their responsibility, I think an internal investigation should have been launched into why nobody was ever arrested in this murder case.

My dad was a state police officer for 25 years - If something like that happened to him you could count on the local police force and the state police to be to see that justice was done - he passed away about 1 1/2 years ago and most of the people he worked with come to the memorial service and told us that if my mom needed anything to call and they would be there - they have been - they were and are a great family. It makes me mad that the community was so afraid of Reine that they did nothing - except kick the Busby family out of town - I hope the Busby family can continue to live - my heart and love to out to a fellow police family.
